Orelvis Martinez hit with 80-game PED suspension
Blue Jays top prospect Orelvis Martinez has received an 80-game suspension after testing positive for a performance enhancing substance.
Advice: Wow. According to a team statement, Martinez tested positive for clomiphene, a performance-enhancing substance. Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins added “We were both surprised and disappointed to learn of Orelvis Martinez’s suspension. We will do everything in our power to ensure Orelvis has learned from this mistake. Orelvis has our support and we know he will get through this.” The 22-year-old top prospect made his big-league debut earlier this week, going 1-for-3 at the dish, after posting an .867 OPS with 16 homers across 63 games this season for Triple-A Buffalo. He can be dropped in all re-draft formats as his season is ostensibly over.
