      Semien went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, three RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Semien got the Rangers on the board with an RBI double in the fifth inning and added a two-out, two-run single in the ninth, but the comeback fell short. This was his third multi-hit effort in June, though it was his first since June 3. The second baseman is slashing .265/.330/.438 with 11 home runs, 40 RBI, 50 runs scored and three stolen bases over 69 contests this season.       Pepiot (4-4) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings in a loss to Atlanta on Saturday.

      Advice: Pepiot looked to be on his game with four scoreless innings to begin his outing, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, the right-hander gave up three home runs -- all with two out -- to account for five Atlanta runs. It was the first time this season Pepiot has given up three home homers in a game, and the long balls prevented him from finishing five frames for the third time this season.     • Bobby Witt Jr. steals 20th base of year in victory
      Bobby Witt Jr. stole a base while going 2-for-5 in a victory for the Royals over the Dodgers on Saturday.

      Advice: Witt Jr. also drove in a run with his single in the seventh, and it gave the Royals a 6-2 cushion. The star shortstop’s theft gives him 20 on the season, and there’s a good chance he’s going to pass the 49 swipes that he picked up in 2023.       Marcus Semien went 3-for-4 with three RBI in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

      Advice: Semien got the Rangers on the board with an RBI double off George Kirby to make it 4-1 Mariners. In the top of the ninth, the star second baseman drove in two more, but the Rangers still trailed 7-5 after that one.       Ryan Pepiot allowed five runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings against the Braves on Saturday.

      Advice: Pepiot allowed seven hard-hit baseballs on the day and three home runs which accounted for seven runs. The right-hander did produce a 26 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW which helped him strike out four. However, he also walked three in what was an uneven effort overall. His first season in Tampa has not gone as smoothly as hoped. While he has flashed upside, he also has a 4.57 ERA but he has a good chance to turn that around next week against the Pirates.     • Brandon Nimmo has two hits, two RBI in win
      Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Padres.

      Advice: Nimmo got the scoring going with an RBI double in the fourth inning and then tacked on an extra run with an RBI single in the eighth.       The Yankees are expected to decide this weekend whether Cole (elbow) will need another rehab start or if he's ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

      Advice: Cole was dominant in his third rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, pitching 4.1 innings during which he allowed an unearned run on two hits and no walks while striking out 10 batters. The reigning AL Cy Young Award winner tossed 70 pitches in the outing, so he'd likely have his workload managed to some extent if his next trip to the mound is with the big club. If it's determined that Cole needs another rehab start, it would be for ramp-up reasons rather than due to effectiveness -- he's dominated minor leaguers in his three appearances, posting a 19:0 K:BB while allowing just one earned run over 12.1 frames.       Advice: With both Brandon Lowe and Taylor Walls back healthy, Rosario has found his playing time coming almost exclusively against lefties. He's hit well in the role, maintaining a .393 average with three RBI and four runs scored across his last 10 games, but he's started only one of the Rays' last six matchups against righties.
