      Advice: Candelario belted a two-run home run in the fifth inning to help the Reds overcome a sloppy day in the field (five errors) and on the mound (eight walks). The home run was his third in the last two games and sixth during the month of June. After an inconsistent first two months, Candelario's bat is heating up this month.       Advice: Ragans had just one bad inning -- he gave up a two-run home run to Miguel Rojas and a solo shot to Chris Taylor in the fifth. Aside from that, it was smooth sailing for the southpaw, who earned his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though he has just two wins in that span. The Royals' ace is now at a 3.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 102:26 K:BB over 86 innings across 15 starts this season. He's given up more than three runs just twice, with both of those games being seven-run mishaps, so he's often been even more dominant than his surface stats would suggest.       Advice: Ragans struck out four and walked one. He scattered six hits allowed, but two of those were homers from Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor. Even with the roundtrippers it’s another quality outing from the 26-year-old, albeit one that doesn’t come with many strikeouts nor a win.       Advice: It was a memorable return to Fenway Park for Verdugo, who belted a two-run homer on the first pitch he saw in the first inning from Brayan Bello before driving in two more runs later in the game. It was Verdugo's first homer since May 29 -- he's up to nine long balls on the season, just four shy of his career high.       Alex Verdugo exacted revenge in his return to Fenway Park on Friday night, going 3-for-5 with a homer, double and four RBI as the Yankees vanquished the Red Sox 8-1.

      Advice: Verdugo brought the pain on the first pitch that he saw in his former home park, blasting a 406-foot (104.0 mph EV) two-run shot to give the Yankees an early 2-0 lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. He also added an RBI double in the fifth inning that made it a 4-1 ballgame and capped off the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the ninth inning.       Kevin Gausman lost to the Guardians after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings on Friday.

      Advice: Gausman’s velocity was well down for a second straight start tonight, even though he was working with an extra day off. It’s a definite cause for concern at this point; there’d be much more reason to expect Gausman to bounce back while throwing 94 mph than there is while he’s throwing 92.       Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Miller (shoulder) will return from the injured list and start Wednesday against the Rockies, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

      Advice: Right shoulder inflammation has kept Miller on the injured list since mid-April, but he began a rehab assignment May 26. While he's put up a 7.80 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 10:8 K:BB through 15 innings, he was able to touch 99 mph with his fastball during his last outing. Miller will be welcomed back to the big leagues by a Rockies offense that currently ranks 17th in the majors with a .687 OPS, though we'll at least note this will be a road game in Colorado.       Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts told reporters on Friday that Bobby Miller (shoulder) will rejoin the team’s starting rotation on Wednesday against the Rockies in Colorado.

      Advice: While the results weren’t there in his final rehab start on Thursday, Miller came through the game healthy and that’s all the really matters at this point. He has made just three starts at the big league level this season, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and an 18/6 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings of work.
