• Angels claim Niko Goodrum off waivers from Rays
Angels claimed INF/OF Niko Goodrum off waivers from the Rays.

Advice: Goodrum provides the Angels with some extra position player depth at Triple-A Salt Lake. The versatile 32-year-old veteran was removed from Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster earlier this week after just 37 plate appearances this season in the big leagues. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Returns to bullpen
Blach tossed three innings out of the bullpen in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Giants, giving up one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out two.

Advice: Blach made a five-inning spot start for the Rockies in an April 24 loss to the Padres, but he's since moved into a long-relief role. After tossing four shutout innings behind starter Peter Lambert in a 5-4 loss to the Marlins on May 2, Blach was called upon to cover multiple frames once again Tuesday and pitched effectively. • Bryan Woo set to return on Friday against A’s
Bryan Woo (elbow) will start on Friday against the Athletics.

Advice: Woo will make his return to Seattle’s starting rotation after missing the opening six weeks of the regular season recovering from right elbow inflammation. The 24-year-old righty was sharp in his latest rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma with six strikeouts over five scoreless frames and shouldn’t have any workload restrictions in his season debut. It’s an extremely tasty matchup, which makes Woo a viable option for fantasy managers in all formats right out of the gate. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Yankees claim Colby White off waivers from Rays
Yankees claimed RHP Colby White off waivers from the Yankees.

Advice: White will head to Double-A Somerset as extra relief depth for New York after being jettisoned from Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster earlier this week. The 25-year-old reliever has yet to pitch in the majors after undergoing Tommy John surgery back in 2022. He’s an interesting lottery ticket for the Yankees. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago

  • Jeimer Candelario swats solo homer in loss
Jeimer Candelario hit a solo homer Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Candelario got the Reds on the board with a solo blast off Slade Cecconi in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old has driven in just 12 runs over 36 games in 2024, and the homer is the fourth of the year. Better things should be ahead for Candelario in the coming months, if not sooner. • Corbin Carroll knocks in go-ahead run against Reds
Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months. • Elevated to leadoff spot
Rocchio will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Thursday's game versus the White Sox.

Advice: Rocchio hit second for the Guardians in a game a week ago, but this is just the second time all season that hasn't been in the No. 9 spot for the Guardians in a game he started. The rookie shortstop had a walk-off RBI single in Wednesday's win over the Tigers, which was his first RBI since April 23 and just his fifth of the season. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

  • Paul Sewald picks up first save against Reds
Paul Sewald threw a scoreless inning to pick up a save Thursday against the Reds.

Advice: Sewald has his first save of the season after missing the first month-plus of the season with an oblique strain. The right-hander looked good while picking up the save with two strikeouts, no hits allowed and 8-of-11 offerings landing for strikes. Sewald should see the bulk of save chances for Arizona now that he’s back healthy. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago
  • Starting Friday
Woo (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Athletics, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Advice: Woo has been on the injured list all year due to right elbow inflammation, but he has now been given the green light to make his season debut with the Mariners. The 24-year-old righty did not give up a run through 11.1 innings during his three rehab starts at Triple-A Tacoma, and he managed to strikeout 17 batters while walking none. Emerson Hancock is expected to be optioned to Tacoma once Woo is activated. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago
