    • Throwing off flat ground
Snell (groin) began throwing off flat ground Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Assuming Snell has no issues with flat-ground throwing, the plan is for him to begin mound work at some point next week. It's still unclear if the 31-year-old southpaw will be able to return from the IL when eligible June 18, but some clarity may come once he's thrown a few bullpen sessions. Rotowire.com Today, 3:29 pm

    • Goes yard in Thursday's win
Garver went 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored in a win over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Garver was a one-man wrecking crew for Seattle, delivering an RBI single in the fourth inning before putting an exclamation point on the M's shutout victory with a ninth-inning solo blast. While Thursday's performance marked the veteran catcher's second two-hit effort and second multi-RBI performance in the last four games, Garver's first two months-plus in Seattle have been highly disappointing -- he's sitting on a .175 batting average and .612 OPS through his first 200 plate appearances, and his 30.5 percent strikeout rate is his highest since he whiffed at a 45.7 percent clip during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. • Doubles home go-ahead run
Friedl went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 8-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: In a back-and-forth affair, Friedl produced the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a two-out double off lefty reliever Luke Little. The double extended Friedl's hit streak to five games, during which he's 6-for-19 with three extra-base hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 am
    • Belts fourth homer
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: The Nationals' only two runs in the contest came on back-to-back homers by CJ Abrams and Thomas in the sixth inning. The long ball was Thomas' first extra-base hit of any kind since May 29, and he batted just .185 (5-for-27) over that seven-game stretch. Since returning May 27 from a lengthy stay on the injured list, Thomas is batting .250 with two homers, six RBI, six runs and four stolen bases over 11 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:42 pm

    • Logs steal in three-hit game
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June. • Mitch Garver socks solo homer in win over A’s
Mitch Garver drove in two runs and hit a solo homer in a victory over the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Garver also drew two walks. He blooped in a single to score Cal Raleigh in the fourth, and his homer was off a center-cut fastball from T.J. McFarland that extended Seattle’s lead to 3-0. Garver has six homers on the season and has been a significant disappointment with a slash of .175/.285/.327 over the first 60-plus games of 2024. • Out against left-hander
Mullins is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Toronto.

Advice: The last time Mullins made a start against a lefty came back on May 15 against Yusei Kikuchi. Kikuchi is on the mound again for Thursday's tilt, but Mullins will begin the series finale on the bench. Colton Cowser will patrol center field Thursday while Austin Hays handles left field. • Extends hit streak to four games
Friedl went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, a home run, two RBI and two additional runs scored in Wednesday's 12-7 win over Colorado. He was also hit by a pitch twice.

Advice: Friedl, who launched one of four Cincinnati home runs in the come-from-behind victory, appears to be getting his swing in shape. After missing a significant amount of time to start the season, he's hit safely in four consecutive games, going 5-for-15 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs. The hit-by-pitches could become a concern, as Friedl has been plunked five times (T-21st) in just 56 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 am
    • Collects 12th steal
Mullins went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Mullins has seen his playing time dip amid his prolonged struggles at the plate. He's gone just 9-for-73 (.123) with a 3:24 BB:K over 26 contests since the start of May, though he has managed to pick up six steals in that span despite his troubles getting on base. Mullins is slashing a meager .178/.225/.314 with 12 steals, six home runs, 22 RBI and 23 runs scored over 182 plate appearances this year. Austin Hays and Colton Cowser have been the main players to benefit from Mullins' decreased playing time, and the Orioles aren't short on prospects to call up if they choose to mix up the composition of outfielders on their roster.
