      Harvey (2-2) took the loss Thursday against Atlanta, coughing up three runs on four hits in an inning of relief.

      Advice: Taking the mound with the score tied 2-2, Harvey got two quick outs before the wheels came off, with the rally highlighted by Marcell Ozuna's two-run homer on a slider that caught too much of the plate. Harvey had been scored upon only once in his prior 10 appearances, and the long ball was just the second he's served up this season in 31.1 innings. The right-hander has been generally outstanding as the Nationals' top setup man, posting a 2.87 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB, and his 18 holds already has him one away from his career high.       Advice: Marte delivered the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when his two-out single plated Corbin Carroll. Marte has rebounded nicely from an 0-for-22 skid in late May, going 11-for-28 (.393) with two home runs, two doubles, six RBI and five runs scored over the last eight contests. The Diamondbacks' offense could get a boost if the struggling Carroll can build off his three-hit performance Thursday, which would give Marte more run-producing opportunities.       Advice: Lopez held the Nationals scoreless until the sixth inning, when CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas tagged him for back-to-back solo homers. Lopez looked like he could be on the ropes when the following two batters singled, but the right-handed hurler got out of the jam without another run scoring.       Reynoldo Lopez allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 5-2 victory over the Nationals on Thursday.



      Advice: Lopez gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven. CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas hit back-to-back home runs off him in the sixth inning. The home runs Lopez allowed were his third and fourth of the season (0.57 HR/9). Only Ranger Suarez and Luis Gil have a lower ERA than Lopez’ 1.85 (min. 50 innings), though his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.71. He has eight quality starts but he’s only won three of his 11 starts this year. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.

    • Bobby Witt Jr. steals two bags in win over CLE
      Bobby Witt Jr. reached twice while stealing two bases in a 4-3 win for the Royals over the Guardians on Thursday.

      Advice: Witt Jr. is now up to 19 thefts on the year. The speedy superstar is playing at an MVP level with a .317/.371/.560 slash, and has picked up hits in each game thus far in June. If 2025 drafts were held now — and they are decidedly not — it’d be hard to argue that he wouldn’t be the first pick in the overwhelming majority of leagues. Scary to think he’s still only 23, too.     • Verdugo gets a day off after tremendous catch
      Alex Verdugo is not in the Yankees lineup on Thursday following a tremendous catch to secure Wednesday night’s win over the Twins.

      Advice: There is some speculation that Verdugo is a bit banged up after his run-saving catch in left field. There are no indications as of yet that there is any kind of serious injury, but the Yankees are likely just giving him a day to rest up.
