    • Josh Hader gives up grand slam before earning save
Josh Hader recorded his 15th save despite giving up a grand slam to one of the two batters he faced in the ninth Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Carlos Correa hit the slam to make it a 13-12 game, but Hader then struck out Manuel Margot to end it. The homer was the seventh allowed by Hader in 39 innings, but since none of the runners on base belonged to him, his ERA only slightly increased to 3.92. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • No-decision in Milwaukee debut
Civale allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Civale received a tough assignment in his first start as a Brewer, and he didn't do particularly well. Will Smith tagged him for two solo shots and Miguel Vargas added a two-run home run, though Civale exited the game in line for the win before the Brewers' bullpen blew the lead. The three homers are a season high for the right-hander, and that could be a problem that crops up more since Milwaukee's American Family Field is more prone to homers than his old home park, Tropicana Field. Civale is at a 5.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 92:30 K:BB through 92 innings over 18 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:37 pm
    • Aaron Civale allows three homers in debut with MIL
Aaron Civale was charged for four runs in five innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: This was Civale’s first start as a member of the Brew Crew, and it’s fair to say it was a mixed bag. He gave up three homers — including two of the three that Will Smith hit in the game — but he also struck out eight and allowed only two other hits in the contest. The former Guardian and Ray has not shown any consistency in 2024, and Saturday was a pretty good example of the risks that come with using him as a fantasy option, especially against a team as good as the Dodgers. A (potentially) easier test comes next week against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 pm
    • Strong in seventh win
Castillo (7-9) allowed a run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight over 6.2 innings to earn the win Friday over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Castillo earned his first quality start in four outings with this impressive performance. The only run on his line was a solo home run by Kevin Kiermaier in the sixth inning. Castillo is now at a 3.72 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 111:32 K:BB through 111.1 innings over 19 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Angels in a favorable matchup. • Escapes with 15th save
Hader picked up a save in Friday's 13-12 win against the Twins. He faced two batters, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one.

Advice: Hader likely didn't expect to enter Friday's contest as the Astros held a 13-5 lead entering the ninth. However, Luis Contreras allowed three runs and then loaded the bases, forcing the call to the Houston closer. Hader allowed a grand slam to Carlos Correa to bring the Twins within one before fanning Manuel Margot for his 15th save of the campaign. The Houston southpaw now sports a 3.92 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB across 39 total innings while going 15-for-16 in save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:26 pm

    • Castillo strikes out eight in victory over Jays
Luis Castillo allowed just two hits with eight strikeouts while holding the Blue Jays to one run in a victory Friday.

Advice: Castillo took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a solo homer to Kevin Kiermaier to break up the no-no and the shutout. He allowed a single to Spencer Horwitz a batter later, but that was it in terms of hits. It was a sensational outing for Castillo which has been the usual for the right-hander at home; he has a 2.14 ERA over his last 12 dozen outings in Seattle. The road has been a tougher task for him, but for the most part, Castillo has been a strong option in 2024. This was an example of him at his best. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm

    • Trea Turner smacks two homers in win over Braves
Trea Turner went 2-for-5 with two two-run home runs in an 8-6 win over the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Good things have come in pairs for Turner who’s two two-run shots off Max Fried gave the Phillies a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. This was also the second time in four games Turner hit two long balls and his fourth multi-hit game in five contests. Deuces are officially wild for Turner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Goes deep twice
Turner went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Friday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: Turner belted a two-run shot in the fourth inning followed by another in the sixth. He's gone deep five times in 16 games since returning from the injured list, with four of those coming in his last four games. Turner has knocked multiple hits in eight of those 16 games, good for a .338 average. On the year, he's slashing .341/.386/.510 with 21 extra-base hits and 22 RBI through 49 contests. • Bryan Woo (hamstring) to make rehab start Saturday
Bryan Woo (hamsting) will make a minor league rehab start at High-A Everett on Saturday.

Advice: The Mariners are hopeful that he’ll be able to throw around 45-50 pitches in the ballgame. Woo also participated in pitcher’s fielding practice without issue on Friday. He won’t be ready to rejoin the Mariners’ rotation next week, but it sounds like he could be ready to go immediately following the All-Star break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:49 pm
