    • Homers in Tuesday's win
Wade went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Wade has gone 3-for-13 (.231) with two walks over three games since he returned from missing a month with a hamstring injury. The 30-year-old had been hitting atop the order prior to the injury, but the Giants have had him in the No. 2 spot with Jorge Soler at leadoff recently. Wade has just three homers over 55 games this year, but he's maintained a .324/.459/.437 slash line with 18 RBI, 24 runs scored and a stolen base. His 19.8 percent walk rate has helped to keep his ratios strong even if he's lacking in counting stats. Rotowire.com Today, 9:41 am
    • Lands on IL with strained hamstring
The Tigers placed Mize on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a strained left hamstring, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Mize tweaked his hamstring during Sunday's start against the Angels and subsequent testing revealed a strain. It's not clear what the grade of the strain is, but the Tigers anticipate the right-hander missing at least three starts. Keider Montero has taken Mize's spot on the roster and will start Wednesday in Minnesota, but the club will need an additional starter to fill in this weekend, as well, with Jack Flaherty (back) also missing a turn. • Kerry Carpenter (back) experiencing discomfort
Kerry Carpenter (back) experienced increased discomfort in his back during workouts.

Advice: Carpenter had started baseball activities, but is now on rest and rehab. Consider this a setback in his return. Carpenter has been on the injured list with a lumbar injury since the end of May. He hit .283 with eight home runs and 29 RBI in 50 games this season. Rotoworld Today, 7:12 am
    • Fans seven in quality start
Skubal came away with a no-decision Tuesday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six inning as the Tigers fell 5-3 to the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: While he mostly kept traffic off the bases, a two-run double by Royce Lewis (groin) in the third inning and a solo shot by Manuel Margot in the fifth helped deny Skubal his 10th win of the year. The southpaw did collect his 12th quality start of the season, and he'll take a 2.45 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 119:20 K:BB through 103 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Cincinnati. • Keeps tumbling
Gil (9-4) took the loss Tuesday against Cincinnati, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks across four-plus innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Gil surrendered at least four runs for a third straight start, something he'd done just once in his first 13 outings, continuing an unexpected freefall after an outstanding start to 2024. He was pulled after hitting a pair of batters and allowing a two-run home run to Will Benson in the fifth inning without recording an out. While Gil still owns a 3.41 ERA and a 102:48 K:BB across 89.2 innings, fantasy managers should proceed with caution, especially with a matchup against the Red Sox on the docket for Sunday. • Luis Gil’s struggles continue in loss
Luis Gil allowed four runs on two hits in four innings in a loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: The command simply wasn’t there for Gil on Tuesday, walking three and striking out three while throwing 83 pitches in just four innings. There has been some concern that Gil is hitting a bit of a wall after allowing 16 earned runs in his last 9 2/3 innings. The Yankees maintain confidence in the 26-year-old, but he left a lot of sliders up in the zone today and struggled to command his changeup, so perhaps he is getting a little tired in his breakout season. • Skubal strikes out seven in loss to Twins
Tarik Skubal allowed three earned runs and four hits over six innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: Skubal pitched two scoreless innings to start the game but ran into trouble in the third inning. After striking out Willi Castro to start the frame, Skubal allowed back-to-back singles to Kyle Farmer and Manuel Margot before Royce Lewis eventually doubled to bring both runners around to score. He would later give up a solo homer to Margot in the fifth inning but returned to pitch a scoreless sixth before being pulled for Will Vest. Skubal has allowed seven earned runs over his last 17 innings pitched while posting a 21:4 K:BB ratio. The lefty didn’t get saddled with the loss in this one and will look to pick up his 10th win of the season on Sunday against the Reds. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:09 pm
    • Launches rehab assignment
Baez (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Baez has been out since June 11 while dealing with lumbar inflammation, but he now appears to be on the cusp of returning to the major-league roster. The shortstop will likely play in multiple games with Toledo before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Baez has struggled to a .183/.209/.247 slash line with one home run, 25 RBI, 15 runs scored and six stolen bases over 53 games this season, not providing much value to fantasy managers. • Javier Báez (back) starting rehab assignment
Javier Báez (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Báez has been on the shelf since mid-June due to back inflammation and will likely need at least a handful of rehab contests to get back up to speed. It would be an understatement to say that his time in Detroit has been a colossal disappointment since signing a six-year, $140 million deal as a free agent back in 2022. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:06 pm
