    • Nestor Cortes strikes out eight against Red Sox
Nestor Cortes held the Red Sox to one run in six innings and struck out eight in the Yankees’ 3-1 victory Friday.

Advice: Cortes gave up 410-, 397- and 386-foot flyballs, but Yankee Stadium managed to hold two of them, with only Romy Gonzalez leaving the yard. Cortes remained stuck at 4-7 while improving his now 3.41 ERA and 105/20 K/BB ratio through 111 innings. He’ll get the Rays next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:58 pm

    • Nestor Cortes strikes out eight Red Sox
Nestor Cortes allowed just one run in six innings against the Red Sox on Friday. He struck out eight and walked one in a no-decision.

Advice: Cortes carved the Red Sox up in this one. His fastball and sweeper each induced six swings-and-misses as those two pitches along with his cutter rendered the Sox’s bats powerless. The quality start was Cortes’ ninth of the season as he’s led a fantastic bounce-back campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 pm

    • Idle Friday
Canha is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Canha has three hits in his last 39 at-bats and will be absent from the starting nine for the second time in three games. Gio Urshela will play first base while Matt Vierling fills the hot corner. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:17 pm

    • Not in Friday's lineup
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup Friday versus the Reds.

Advice: McKinstry has gone 0-for-14 over his last five games, so he'll get a chance to regroup Friday while Ryan Kreidler starts at shortstop and bats ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:16 pm

    • Mark Canha not in Tigers lineup on Friday night
Mark Canha is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: It’s the second time in the last three games that Canha has been excluded from the lineup, so perhaps he’s battling something minor. Gio Urshela will cover first base in his absence on Friday night and will bat seventh against Carson Spiers and the Reds. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:12 pm

    • Out of lineup versus lefty
Marsh is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta.

Advice: Marsh will begin this game on the bench as Atlanta sends left-hander Max Fried to the hill. The Phillies will go with right-handed batters both in left field (Cristian Pache) and center field (Johan Rojas). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:09 pm

    • Posts big offensive line Thursday
O'Neill went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run, two RBI and two stolen bases in a 6-5 extra-innings win against Miami on Thursday.

Advice: O'Neill accounted for three of Boston's eight total hits to record his third consecutive multi-hit effort. He came up big in extra frames, recording an RBI single in the 11th inning and adding the game-winning RBI on a double in the 12th. O'Neill also collected two thefts in the contest after notching just one steal (on one attempt) over his first 60 games of the season. Swiping bags probably won't become a trend for the outfielder moving forward, though it's worth noting that he stole 29 combined bases across the 2021 and 2022 campaigns while with St. Louis. • Pops solo shot
Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Westburg has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games, going 16-for-54 (.296) with three homers and seven RBI in that span. The infielder is up to 14 homers this season while adding 49 RBI, 42 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .280/.329/.508 slash line across 80 contests. He continues to split time between second base and third base, but he's firmly in the middle of the Orioles' lineup on a near-everyday basis, and he has the production to match that role. • Tyler O’Neill drives in two, steals two bases
Tyler O’Neill went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two stolen bases in a 6-5 win over the Marlins on Thursday in 12 innings.

Advice: O’Neill picked up both RBI in extra innings. The first was an infield single to give Boston a 3-2 lead in the 11th, and the next was a double in the 12th that extended the lead for the Red Sox to 6-4. The steals are a bit of a rarity for the outfielder, as they were just the second and third of the season for the 29-year-old. O’Neill certainly has the speed to contribute in that category, so it’s possible he’ll run more in the second half of the campaign. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:49 pm
