    • Homers in Wednesday's loss
India went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Rockies.

Advice: India was scratched with a left knee contusion Tuesday, and he returned in a non-defensive role as the designated hitter Wednesday. The homer was his second in July, though he's batting just .194 (6-for-31) with three RBI this month. Overall, the second baseman is at a .269/.369/.411 slash line with seven homers, 37 RBI, 44 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 19 doubles and one triple through 350 plate appearances this season. • Daulton Varsho exits game with left knee contusion
Daulton Varsho was removed from Wednesday night’s battle against the Giants due to a left knee contusion.

Advice: Varsho dove headfirst into first base in an attempt to avoid a tag from Logan Webb, but ended up still being out and now has a bruised left knee to show for his efforts. Fortunately, the injury isn’t believed to be anything serious and Varsho should be able to return to action in a day or two. Rotoworld Today, 8:10 pm

    • Exits with bruised knee
Varsho was removed from Wednesday's game against the Giants due to a left knee contusion.

Advice: Varsho made an awkward dive/slide into first base while trying to avoid being tagged out in the second inning. He was able to take the field for the bottom half of the frame but was eventually replaced in left field by Davis Schneider during the third. Varsho's injury shouldn't cause him to miss an extended period of time, though it's possible the Jays give him a day off Thursday to recover. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 pm

    • Nootbaar tallies two XBH, homers vs. Royals
Lars Nootbaar went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and an RBI in Wednesday’s loss to the Royals.

Advice: Nootbaar hit his sixth homer of the season in the second inning off Michael Wacha to give the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead. It was his first home run since being activated off the 10-day IL on July 8, as Nootbaar dealt with an oblique injury that he suffered in late May, which saw him miss more than a month of action. Nootbaar didn’t hit well during his 13-game rehab assignment, going 3-for-17 in Triple-A before making his return. This solid night at the plate should serve as a nice confidence booster, but we’ll want to see the hits strung together on a more consistent basis before considering him a viable option in fantasy. • Dominant in final first-half start
Imanaga (8-2) tossed six scoreless innings to earn the win Wednesday against the Orioles. He allowed six hits and a walk, while striking out six.

Advice: Imanaga finished the first half of the season in style, as he allowed zero runs in a start for the seventh time already this year. The lefty got off to a blazing start in his MLB debut, posting a 0.84 ERA across his first nine outings, before enduring a few lumps since then. However, he has a solid 3.00 ERA over his last three starts and 2.97 ERA overall, giving him some momentum heading into his All-Star appearance next week. Imanaga is tentatively set to take the mound again for the Cubs on July 20 against the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Today, 7:25 pm

    • Shota Imanaga fires six shutout frames vs. O’s
Shota Imanaga recorded six strikeouts over six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Facing an Orioles lineup that has done some serious damage this season against southpaws, Imanaga surrendered only seven total baserunners over six sharp frames to close out a brilliant first half in his Cubs debut. The 30-year-old lefty, who is headed to next week’s Midsummer Classic, leaned heavily on his fastball and splitter combination in this one, finishing with 12 swinging strikes and a pedestrian 26 percent CSW. Yet, he managed to allow just six batted balls with an exit velocity over 95 mph. He’ll bring a pristine 2.97 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 98/16 K/BB ratio across 97 innings (17 starts) into the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 7:20 pm

    • India homers vs. Rockies in return to action
Jonathan India went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday’s loss to the Rockies.

Advice: India smacked his seventh home run of the season in the third inning off Kyle Freeland to give the Reds their first run of the night. The veteran infielder DH’d on Wednesday after missing Tuesday’s game with a knee bruise but looked solid in his return. India is now hitting slashing .269/.369/.411 on the season but has struggled this month, going 5-for-27 (.185) with just three RBI. Rotoworld Today, 7:12 pm

    • Pablo López gives up two runs in no-decision
Pablo López allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the White Sox.

Advice: López took the ball for the second game of Wednesday’s twin bill and surrendered only four hits to the White Sox, including a solo homer to light-hitting backstop Martín Maldonado. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk. He generated 18 swinging strikes, including nine on his four-seam fastball, and finished with a respectable 30 percent CSW. It was a halfway decent rebound effort after getting lit up for six runs over five innings his last time out against the Astros. The 28-year-old righty will bring a bloated 5.11 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 121/23 K/BB ratio across 104 innings (19 starts) into the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 5:47 pm

    • Better in no-decision
Lopez allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the White Sox. He struck out five.

Advice: While he failed to earn the win, it was a much better outing from Lopez after he allowed six runs on eight hits over five innings in his last start against the Astros. Overall, it's been an inconsistent year so far for Lopez, who'll carry a disappointing 5.11 ERA into the All-Star break. However, a 1.18 WHIP, 121:23 K:BB and an xERA of 3.38 indicate that Lopez could be due for some positive regression in the second half. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 pm
