    • Carlos Correa hits grand slam in loss to Astros
Carlos Correa hit his third career grand slam Friday against the Astros.

Advice: The slam was off Josh Hader in the ninth, but the Twins still came up a little short after scoring seven runs in the final frame of a 13-12 loss. It was Correa’s 11th homer this year., and he’s been one of the AL’s best players while batting .307/.377/.514. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Aaron Nola strikes out eight in win
Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs across six innings in a win Friday against the Braves. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: Nola was fantastic in this one. His 21 swings-and-misses were the most he’s forced in a game this season and first time he’s hit that total since June 5th of last year. His vaunted knuckle curve stymied the Braves all night and Nola looked dominant despite the three runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm

    • Delivers quality start
Nola (10-4) yielded three runs on five hits over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over Atlanta.

Advice: Nola got through three shutout frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Austin Riley in the fourth inning. Ozzie Albies then knocked a solo homer in the sixth. It was the first time that Nola gave up multiple home runs since May 31, and he allowed just three in the entire month of June. He forced a season-high 21 swinging strikes Friday, with 10 coming on the knuckle curve. Nola has delivered a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings, including in four straight. During that 10-start stretch, the veteran righty has posted a 3.34 ERA while going 6-2. Nola will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next outing, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Dodgers. • Michael Kopech slams door on Marlins on Friday
Michael Kopech slammed the door on the Marlins on Friday night, navigating a tumultuous ninth inning to preserve a one-run victory.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler picked up his eighth save of the season for his efforts. As always, it wasn’t easy for Kopech, as he allowed a leadoff walk to Xavier Edwards to bring the tying run to the plate. He battled back though to get Vidal Brujan to bounce into a fielder’s choice and Nick Gordon on a called third strike before allowing a single to Jazz Chisholm Jr. and an RBI single to Bryan De La Cruz. Not to worry though, as he bore down to get Josh Bell on a ground ball to first base to end it. Kopech now sports a 4.58 ERA on the season to go with eight saves in 12 chances. • Sitting against left-hander
Abreu is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Yankees.

Advice: With southpaw Nestor Cortes toeing the slab for the Yankees, the left-handed hitting Abreu will begin this one on the bench. Rob Refsnyder will cover right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm

    • Grabs sixth win Thursday
Stanek (6-2) got the win over the Orioles on Thursday, firing a clean seventh inning during which he recorded two strikeouts.

Advice: Stanek entered the game a bit earlier than customary and delivered a crisp 11-pitch effort that saw him locate nine of his offerings for strikes. The hard-throwing right-hander then became the pitcher of record when the Mariners broke open a 2-2 tie with a five-run inning in the home half of the frame. Stanek's six victories are a career high, and the ultra-efficient outing against a dangerous offense was a welcome sight after the Twins had touched him up for two runs over one inning in his most recent appearance Sunday. • Records fourth steal in win
Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a walk in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Rooker provided the only multi-hit effort of the night for the Athletics while swiping a bag to tie the career high of four stolen bases he'd set in 2023. The 29-year-old is on a week-plus tear at the plate, hitting .394 and generating four multi-hit tallies in his last nine games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:56 am
