    • Goes yard in loss
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: he New York outfielder accounted for the only Mets runs of the game, hitting a 428-foot, two-run homer off Mitch Keller in the sixth inning. The nine-year veteran has tapped into his power recently, as he entered slugging .671 with 12 extra base hits -- six homers and doubles apiece -- in 90 plate appearances over his previous 20 games. After missing a game July 1 due to a forehead laceration, Nimmo has batted .320 (8-for-25) with three extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs scored in seven games this month. • Report: Cubs could trade Hoerner, Belly, and more
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Chicago Cubs “are preparing for a potential sale, with [Cody] Bellinger, Jameson Taillon and Nico Hoerner expected to draw interest.”

Advice: Nightengale also notes that the Cubs have not yet decided if they will sell at the deadline or not, but they are listening to offers for the three players listed above. Taillon is in the midst of a solid season despite not bringing a lot of strikeout value for fantasy and could see a boost with a better team context, while Nico Hoerner could see a boost to his fantasy stock as well if he is traded to a team that will let him steal more regularly. • Picks up save No. 18
Jansen locked down his 18th save of the year in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Yankees, tossing a clean ninth innings while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Jansen made quick work of the Yankee hitters, getting Ben Rice to ground out, Juan Soto to line out before sending Aaron Judge down on strikes to end the game. Father time is doing Jansen well this season, as he's converted 18 of his first 19 save chances while sporting a 2.01 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB in 31.1 innings. He has 10 straight scoreless outings since June 15 and has picked up a win and eight saves over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am
    • Little run support in loss
Cease (7-8) took the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings.

Advice: All three runs scored against Cease came from the long ball. Corbin Carroll opened up the game with a solo home run and then Eugenio Suarez put the Diamondbacks ahead with a two-run blast in the seventh. Cease has now given up four homers over his last two starts and has given up 14 in 14 starts dating back to April 27. He has a 5.11 ERA over that span, though that also comes with an elite 11.7 K/9. For the year, the 28-year-old owns a 4.21 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 128:33 K:BB in 109 innings. He lines up to face Atlanta at home this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 am
    • Kenley Jansen closes out Yankees on Sunday night
Kenley Jansen closed out the Yankees on Sunday night, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a three-run advantage.

Advice: The 36-year-old hurler picked up his 18th save of the season for his troubles. He made quick work of the Yankees in this one, getting Ben Rice on a ground ball to first, Juan Soto on a liner to left and Aaron Judge on a swinging third strike to end it. Jansen has been as reliable as ever this season, converting 18 of his first 19 save chances while posting a 2.01 ERA over 31 1/3 innings of work. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:33 pm
    • Dylan Cease gives up two homers in defeat
Dylan Cease yielded three runs in seven innings Sunday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The runs came on longballs from two players who had totaled two and six homers while serving as regulars all year long. He’s given up 14 homers in his last 14 starts, resulting in a 5.11 ERA even though he has an impressive 103/22 K/BB ratio in 79 1/3 innings over that span. There’s no reason he can’t bounce back with a big second half, but there’s also no good reason he isn’t already pitching better. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:47 pm
    • Resting Sunday
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Ruiz will get a breather for the day game after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series with St. Louis, going 4-for-9 with a home run, a double, a walk, four RBI and two additional runs between those contests. Riley Adams will get the nod at catcher Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 am

    • Timely knock in big win
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Gelof contributed to the Athletics' astounding seven-run second inning, lacing a two-bagger to left field that plated Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers. The 24-year-old is enduring a tougher-than-expected second big-league season after setting high expectations a rookie in 2023, but he's showing a bit of life at the plate of late with a .257 average and .794 OPS across 41 plate appearances in his last 10 games. Nevertheless, his Achilles heel continues to be consistent contact -- even during that encouraging stretch, Gelof has struck out at a bloated 39.0 percent clip. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:46 am

    • Three hits in Saturday's win
Nimmo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: The multi-hit performance was his third in his last six games, while Nimmo is 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts through 82 contests -- his career high is nine steals, set back in 2018. The 31-year-old has found his groove at the plate, and since the beginning of June he's slashing .312/.400/.560 through 125 plate appearances with six homers, four steals, 23 RBI and 26 runs.
