• A’s get former top prospect Jordan Groshans in swap
Athletics acquired INF Jordan Groshans and cash considerations from the Yankees for INF J.D. Davis.

Advice: This is exactly the type of move a rebuilding franchise should theoretically make every time, exhcanging a veteran for a former top prospect recalamtion project. Groshans was a top-100 prospect just a couple seasons ago, but has fizzled out with a couple organizations lately. The 24-year-old infielder, who was the 12th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, holds a .590 OPS with one homer in 50 games this season in the upper minors. Rotoworld Today, 10:37 am

  • Max Kepler out third straight game with neck issue
Max Kepler (neck) remains out of the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kepler will sit out his third straight contest on Sunday afternoon due to an ongoing neck issue. There’s been zero indication that he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, but we’re not willing to rule it out. Rotoworld Today, 9:54 am

  • Idle versus lefty
Dahl isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: With left-hander Tommy Henry set to toe the slab for Arizona, the left-handed bat of Dahl will step out of the lineup Saturday. Kyle Schwarber will fill in as Philly's left fielder, moving Alec Bohm into the DH spot while Edmundo Sosa starts at third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 am

  • Max Kepler (neck) not in Saturday’s lineup vs. A’s
Max Kepler (neck) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kepler will sit out his second straight contest on Saturday afternoon due to neck spasms, but there’s no indication that he’s looking at a trip to the injured list. The 31-year-old corner outfielder’s neck locked up on him during the early stages of Thursday’s game against the Rays and he’s probably going to need a couple days off to rest. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 am

  • Athletics lose Abraham Toro (hamstring) to IL
Athletics placed INF Abraham Toro on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: It’s a tough break for Toro, who has done a nice job this season for Oakland, batting .260/.303/.386 with six homers and three steals in 295 plate appearances over 73 games. The 27-year-old infielder is going to wind up missing at least a few weeks, even if it’s only a low-grade hamstring strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:21 am

  • Lands on IL with strained hamstring
The Athletics placed Toro on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a strained right hamstring.

Advice: Toro returned to the lineup Friday after missing the three previous games due to a shoulder strain. He went 1-for-3 with a run and a walk in Friday's 6-5 win over the Twins, but he was replaced by Tyler Nevin in the top of the seventh inning due to the hamstring strain. Nevin and Aledmys Diaz should see increased playing time with Toro sidelined, as could Armando Alvarez, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. • Headed for injured list
Toro suffered a strained hamstring Friday and will be placed on the injured list, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Toro was held out of the lineup earlier in the week with a shoulder issue and returned to the lineup Friday. He suffered an unrelated hamstring injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Tyler Nevin and Aledmys Diaz figure to see increased playing time. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:27 pm

  • Idle Friday
Kepler (neck) isn't part of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Kepler was removed from Thursday's game with neck spasms and isn't expected to hit the injured list, but he'll still be held out of Friday's contest. Instead, Manuel Margot will bat seventh and play right field for Friday's series opener. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:53 pm

  • Max Kepler (neck) remains out of lineup on Friday
Max Kepler (neck) remains out of the Twins’ starting lineup for Friday night’s tilt against the Athletics in Oakland.

Advice: Kepler was pulled from Thursday’s contest due to neck spasms. He isn’t expected to require a trip to the injured list, but with southpaws on tap for Saturday and Sunday, it’s unlikely that we see Kepler return to the Twins’ lineup until early next week. Manuel Margot will start in right field on Friday night and will bat seventh against Joey Estes and the A’s. Rotoworld Friday, 2:29 pm
