• Anthony Rendon walks uphill on treadmill
Anthony Rendon, on the 60-day IL with a hamstring tear, said he’s progressed to walking on an incline on a treadmill.

Advice: That still seems like it might be a few steps away from playing in a major league baseball game. Rendon was injured a month ago today and still has another month before he’ll be eligible to come off the IL. A return right after the All-Star break is probably the best-case scenario. • Brewers bring back Joey Wiemer from injured list
Brewers activated OF Joey Wiemer from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Wiemer missed 16 days with left knee soreness. The Brewers could have just sent him down, as he wasn’t playing well before getting hurt, but they’ve instead decided to go with him over Chris Roller. He’ll likely play against lefties and come off the bench versus righties. He’s starting in center field and batting ninth tonight against Ryan Weathers. Rotoworld Today, 3:03 pm

  • Brewers option OF Chris Roller to Triple-A
Brewers optioned OF Chris Roller to Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: So much for Roller getting any sort of look. He struck out in his lone at-bat during his five days with the Brewers. Rotoworld Today, 3:03 pm

Rendon (hamstring) has progressed to walking on an incline on the treadmill, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rendon is taking baby steps in his recovery from a left hamstring strain but said Monday that he's feeling a bit better. There remains no timetable for his return and he's not eligible for activation for another month after being shifted to the 60-day injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 2:58 pm

  • On bench for Game 2
Merrill is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta.

Advice: Merrill started in center field in Game 1 and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, as he brought home San Diego's first two runs on a groundout and a single. Jose Azocar will take over in center field for the nightcap. Rotowire.com Today, 2:43 pm

  • Mets release Joey Wendle
    Mets released INF Joey Wendle.

Advice: Wendle was designated for assignment last week after hitting .222/.243/.250 in 37 plate appearances for the Mets. He’ll probably resurface with another club this summer, though he might have to take a minor league deal initially. Rotoworld Today, 2:31 pm

  • Sitting again Monday
Garver is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Garver returned to action Friday after missing a couple games due to back spasms, but he now finds himself on the bench for a second straight contest. Mitch Haniger will serve as the designated hitter while Luke Raley receives a start in the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 2:30 pm
  • Won't be activated Monday
Astros manager Joe Espada said that McCormick (hamstring) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the Angels, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: However, McCormick is with the Astros at Minute Maid Park and will go through a pregame workout. His activation will come "soon," per Espada, with Tuesday seeming like a distinct possibility. McCormick has been out for all of May with a right hamstring injury. Rotowire.com Today, 2:20 pm

  • Mitch Garver out of lineup for second straight day
Mitch Garver is sitting again Monday, with Mariners manager Scott Servais saying he plans to mix in his lefty bats more frequently.

Advice: Servais said Garver, Mitch Haniger and Ty France could all sit occasionally with Dominic Canzone and Luke Raley both playing against righties. Garver has been the worst performer of the trio so far this season, so he’s sat on consecutive days. Rotoworld Today, 2:19 pm
