    • Wins with shaky outing
Severino (3-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Arizona.

Advice: Severino got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He gave up one more over the next four frames before Eugenio Suarez knocked him out of the game with a solo shot in the sixth inning. Severino still earned his first win since April 17 in the chaotic 10-9 contest. He ends May with a subpar 4.91 ERA and 23:16 K:BB through 29 frames. Severino will carry a 3.52 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in Washington. Rotowire.com 59 minutes ago
    • Takes second loss
Hicks (4-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: Aaron Judge did most of the damage against Hicks, taking him deep for a three-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the sixth. The five runs allowed were the most Hicks has given up in a start this season, though it was a positive to see him issue no walks for the fourth time in 12 outings. Homers are becoming a problem for the right-hander -- he's allowed five of them over his last four starts after giving up just one across his first eight outings. For the season, Hicks is at a strong 2.70 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB over 63.1 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Arizona. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm

    • Jordan Hicks shaky over 5 1/3 against Yankees
Jordan Hicks gave up eight hits and five runs — four earned — in 5 1/3 innings while picking up a loss to the Giants on Friday.

Advice: When Hicks wasn’t pitching to Aaron Judge, things went ok. Unfortunately, he pitched to Aaron Judge a few times, and he gave up two homers to the mountain of a slugger. Hicks did give up eight hits in this contest, so it wasn’t just Aaron Judge, but Aaron Judge did most of the damage. This blurb is just an excuse to talk more about Aaron Judge. Hicks will still take a strong 2.70 ERA into a start against the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks don’t have Aaron Judge. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm

    • Three hits in return
Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Kwan returned from the injured list after missing nearly the entire month of May but showed no signs of rust. He singled three times, including an RBI knock in the eighth inning. He's produced five multi-hit performances in his last eight appearances. Kwan owns a strong .365/.420/.504 slash line with 30 runs scored and a 12:12 BB:K through 150 plate appearances. • Luis Severino allows five runs, wins
Luis Severino pitched 5 ⅓ innings on Friday against the Diamondbacks and four earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk in a win.

Advice: Seeing the win is nice, but Severino wasn’t his best on Friday. His velocity was down a tick across the board as the Diamondbacks made plenty of hard contact. Yet, Severino didn’t allow an extra-base hit until the Eugenio Suárez home run that chased him from the game. Keep an eye on whether or not that velocity levels out in his next start. • Steven Kwan goes 3-for-4 in return
Steven Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk in a win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Kwan didn’t miss a beat after spending nearly four weeks on the IL with a hamstring strain. He was slashing the ball all over the yard and in the middle of multiple Guardians’ rallies. His batting average is up to an astounding .365. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm

    • Back from IL, leading off Friday
Kwan (hamstring) was reinstated from the injured list and is starting in left field and batting leadoff Friday against the Nationals, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 26-year-old has been sidelined nearly four weeks by a strained left hamstring, but he's back with the Guardians after a four-game rehab stint in the minors. Kwan was producing as one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball prior to the injury with three homers, three steals and a .353/.407/.496 slash line in 32 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 am

    • Guardians activate Steven Kwan for Friday return
Guardians activated OF Steven Kwan from the 10-day injured list.

    • On verge of return
Kwan (hamstring) went 1-for-2 with an RBI, two walks, three runs scored and a stolen base in a rehab game with Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

Advice: After two games with High-A Lake County, Kwan moved his rehab to Columbus earlier this week. He was on base three times Thursday in his second game with the Guardians' top minor-league affiliate and added a steal for good measure, showing good confidence in his hamstring. The 26-year-old appears poised to return to the major-league lineup in the near future, possibly as soon as Friday against Washington, and will look to pick up where he left off before going down after posting a .353/.407/.496 slash line over his first 32 games this season.
