    • Beginning rehab stint Tuesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Cole (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Somerset, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 33-year-old has thrown multiple sessions of live batting practice over the past couple weeks and has now been cleared to pitch in minor-league games. Cole will require multiple outings in the minors before being ready to join the Yankees, but he's on track to make his season debut during the second half of June. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) starting Tuesday in Double-A
Gerrit Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start for Double-A Somerset on Tuesday.

Advice: Cole threw a 43-pitch simulated game Thursday, and now he’ll get a chance to face minor-league hitters as the next stop in his progression. The 33-year-old has missed all of 2024 thus far with his elbow injury, but assuming there are no setbacks, it’s likely the 2023 Cy Young winner will be back in action in the middle of June. • Report: Royce Lewis likely back off IL Tuesday
Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports that Royce Lewis (quad) is likely to be activated off the injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Lewis is going to play third base Sunday during his rehab assignment for Triple-A St. Paul. The 24-year-old will then have a chance to return to the Minnesota lineup as long as everything goes well in that outing. Lewis has significant fantasy upside, and if he’s still on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues, he’s well worth roster consideration. Just keep in mind that injuries have been a major part of his storyline the last few seasons. Rotoworld Today, 9:59 am

    • Carlos Correa getting Sunday off against Astros
Carlos Correa is not in the starting lineup against the Astros on Sunday.

Advice: Correa does not get many days off, but he’ll get a chance to breathe against his former team Sunday. Willi Castro is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth with Correa out. Rotoworld Today, 9:48 am

    • Expected back Tuesday
The Twins are expected to reinstate Lewis (quadricep) from the injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus the Yankees, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lewis has been on the shelf since suffering a right quad strain in the Twins' March 28 season opener, but the standout infielder looks to be on the cusp of rejoining the big club. He began a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul on May 25 and has thus far made five starts in the minors, going 3-for-19 with a double, a stolen base and two runs. According to Park, Lewis is scheduled to start at third base for St. Paul in Sunday's game against Rochester, and if all goes well, the 24-year-old should get the green light to return from the IL. Once Lewis is activated, he'll likely take over as the Twins' everyday third baseman, pushing Jose Miranda into a bench role. Rotowire.com Today, 9:27 am

    • Getting rare day off
Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Houston.

Advice: He'll sit out the series finale against his former club in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day. Willi Castro will fill in at shortstop for Correa, who had started in each of the Twins' last 21 games. Rotowire.com Today, 9:02 am

    • Returns from bruised elbow
Megill (elbow) threw a perfect inning while striking out three Saturday against the White Sox.

Advice: Megill appeared in the seventh inning in a tied game. Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. X-rays came back negative, but he still needed a few days off. It looks like he's back to full speed and should step back into the closer mix despite appearing earlier in the game Saturday. • Plates four in high-scoring win
Rooker went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and a two-run home run in a win over Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Rooker extended the Athletics' lead to 8-3 via his 421-foot blast in the fourth inning with Max Schuemann aboard, and he then erased a 9-8 deficit in the sixth by bringing home Miguel Andujar and Schuemann with a timely two-bagger. The pair of extra-base hits pushed Rooker's total in that category to 24 (out of 49 total hits), and he's now reached safely in 12 straight games while getting on at a stellar .388 clip in that span. • Launches 14th homer
Harper went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Harper provided the Phillies with extra breathing room, taking St. Louis reliever John King deep in the seventh inning. Over the previous 10 games, Harper took a small step back, batting .257 (9-for-35) with three home runs and seven RBI to close out May. Following his second consecutive multi-hit game, he's batting .276/.381/.538 with 14 homers, 44 RBI, 35 runs scored and three stolen bases over 54 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:25 pm
