    • Thairo Estrada held out of lineup with thumb issue
Thairo Estrada was held out of the Giants’ starting lineup on Saturday night due to a sore left thumb.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder suffered the injury when he jammed his thumb on second base while sliding during Friday’s game. He’s considered day-to-day. Brett Wisely will start in his place at second base and bat ninth for the Giants on Saturday evening. Rotoworld Today, 5:38 pm

    • Willy Adames singles home game-winner in extras
Willy Adames drove in three runs including the game-winner in the 10th to give the Brewers a 4-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Adames had three hits in the contest, and the biggest was a game-winning infield single off Michael Kopech in the bottom of the 10th. Adames has been an RBI machine throughout the year, and is already up to 42 on the season. He’s also added nine homers and eight steals, so it’s fair to say Adames has been more fantasy helper than hurter so far in 2024. Rotoworld Today, 5:18 pm

    • Pasquantino drives in three with homer in loss
Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs in a loss for the Royals to the Padres on Saturday.

Advice: Pasquantino hit a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the first inning to give Kansas City a 2-1 lead, and he gave the Royals another lead with an RBI single two innings later. The 26-year-old has driven home 39 runs over KC’s 60 games, and the homer was his seventh. The .242 average leaves a bit to be desired, but Pasquantino is capable of helping in several categories with his left-handed bat, as evidenced by this showing Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 4:52 pm
    • Dealing with jammed thumb
Estrada is considered day-to-day after jamming his thumb during Friday's game against the Yankees, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Saturday's absence from the lineup is more than just a day off for the second baseman, who picked up a minor thumb injury in the series opener against New York. Estrada was deemed day-to-day and won't have the benefit of a team-wide rest day until Thursday. If Estrada is forced to miss more time, Brett Wisely would likely fill the gap at second. • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swipes base in loss to Bucs
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swiped his second base of the season and scored the Blue Jays’ lone run in Saturday’s loss to the Pirates.

Advice: The 25-year-old slugger smacked a one-out single off of Mitch Keller in the sixth inning, advanced to second on a line drive off the bat of Bo Bichette and scored the Jays’ only run on a two-out RBI single by Dan Vogelbach. He also drew a walk in the opening inning and swiped second base, but was left stranded there. Guerrero finished the day 2-for-3 and is now slashing .292/.390/.406 with five homers, 25 RBI and a pair of stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Today, 2:58 pm
    • Idle Saturday
Estrada is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Estrada will get his first day off since May 12 on Saturday, a well-earned break after generating seven hits across his last four starts. Brett Wisely will play second and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:52 pm

    • Ends homer drought
Suarez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-9 loss to the Mets.

Advice: Suarez went yard in the sixth inning for just his fourth home run in 56 games this season. The blast ended a 19-game stretch without a home run and was his first hit in 13 at-bats. Suarez is batting .211 with a .597 OPS, 26 RBI and 21 runs scored in his first season with the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Today, 5:37 am

    • William Contreras picks up three hits in easy win
William Contreras picked up three hits and drove in a run in a win Friday over the White Sox.

Advice: Contreras, 26, also scored twice. The Brewers were able to reach 23 times via hit and six times on walks, and somewhat amazingly none of those hits went over the fence. Contreras is one of the best hitting backstops in baseball with a .323 average, .896 OPS, eight homers and four stolen bases across 229 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:06 pm
    • MJ Melendez goes 0-for-4 in loss to Padres
MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense. He’s sitting at .172/.233/.337 for the season. Drew Waters wouldn’t necessarily be a better bet, but at least he’d improve the defense in left if given a shot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
