    • Starting to find some power
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Athletics.

Advice: Diaz has hit well for average this season, but he has struggled to find much power as he has just a .119 ISO. He's started to show more pop of late, tallying three of his eight doubles on the campaign in his last nine games. Despite the lack of extra-base knocks, Diaz has managed 16 runs scored and 21 RBI across 42 games and comfortably remains Houston's top option behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am

    • Clubs another homer
Devers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Rays.

Advice: Devers took righty Zack Littell yard for a solo homer in the second inning, marking the lefty third baseman's second straight game with a long ball. All six of Devers' homers this season have come off RHP, and he boasts a .302/.394/.593 slash line against opposite-handed pitching. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:16 pm

    • Diaz knocks in three Thursday
Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, 3 RBI and a run scored against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a bases-clearing double in the third inning off Joey Estes and the route was on from there. He hit 23 home runs in 104 games last year, but his power is noticeably down this year. His .119 ISO is well below his .256 ISO from last year. Diaz doesn’t walk often, but has cut his strikeout percentage to 13 percent so far this year. He’s not going to fall off a cliff if that keeps up, but he’s not exactly delivering on his lofty preseason draft price so far either. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:10 pm

    • Devers goes deep again Thursday
Rafael Devers went 2-for-4 with walk, two runs scored, and a solo home run against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Devers hit the ball into the monster seats at Fenway Park against Rays starter Zack Littel for his sixth home run of the season. It’s his second consecutive game with a home run. Devers is hitting .288 with a .902 OPS in 33 games this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:42 pm

    • Fans two for seventh save
Doval earned the save over the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out two.

Advice: Doval entered the game with a three-run lead in the ninth and quickly retired the first two batters on strikes before walking Mookie Betts and surrendering a single to Shohei Ohtani. However, the right-hander was able to get Freddie Freeman to ground out for the final out and notch his seventh save in as many chances. Doval has also recorded two strikeouts in three straight appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:24 am

    • Clubs homer in loss
Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rays.

Advice: Devers' sixth-inning solo shot brought Boston to within a run, but it ended up being the final tally for either team. The long ball extended the third baseman's on-base streak to nine contests, and he's hitting .270 with two homers, five RBI and five runs over that stretch. On a less positive note, Devers has struck out at least once in 12 straight games, and his 24.1 percent strikeout rate is on pace to be his worst mark since the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Fans seven but takes loss
Houck (3-5) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Houck made it through three scoreless frames before giving up an unearned run in the fourth. The right-hander had a 2-1 lead when he exited with two outs and two runners on base in the sixth, but Greg Weissert gave up consecutive hits in relief to saddle Houck with two more runs (only one of which was earned) along with the loss. Despite the defeat, Houck gave Boston a solid chunk of innings again -- he's completed at least 5.2 frames in each of his nine outings this season. He's pitched much better than his 3-5 record suggests with a 2.17 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB through 58 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:17 pm

    • Camilo Doval secures seventh save vs. Dodgers
Camilo Doval struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Doval was summoned to close out the game with a three-run lead in the ninth. He struck out the first two batters, then walked Mookie Betts before giving up a base hit to Shohei Ohtani. Freddie Freeman grounded out to second base to end the game. Doval is up to seven saves with a 3.18 ERA and 23 strikeouts across 17 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:14 pm

    • Tanner Houck punches out seven in 5 ⅔ innings
Tanner Houck couldn’t get through the sixth inning against the Rays, but still managed to strike out seven and allow just two earned runs in a loss Wednesday. He also gave up five hits and three walks.

Advice: Houck was humming along until back-to-back singles in the sixth inning sent Alex Cora to the bullpen with Houck at 112 pitches, the highest total of his career. Greg Weissert then allowed both inherited runners to score, spoiling Houck’s chance for a victory. Still solid, he’s looked more mortal in his last three starts with a 3.86 ERA and 20.0 K%.
