      Advice: Tovar kicked off the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single to left field. That was just the beginning of a massive performance by the young shortstop -- he added a solo homer in the sixth and a tiebreaking two-run shot in the seventh. The four-hit game was Tovar's second of the campaign, and he finished with his second multi-homer performance of the season.       Ezequiel Tovar went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

      Advice: The two home runs give Tovar 10 on the season. He hit a solo home run off Kyle Gibson in the sixth inning and a two-run home run that gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead off Andrew Kittredge in the seventh inning.       Advice: It was a quiet afternoon for the Rays as they were shutout. Diaz had the only two hits for Tampa Bay. After winning the batting title in the American League last year, he’s hitting just .245 so far this season. Diaz’ .273 BABIP this year is well below his .320 career BABIP.       David Bednar struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning against the Twins on Saturday.

      Advice: The Pirates plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up by four, putting a save situation out of reach for Bednar, who took over to close it out in the top of the ninth. He worked around a base hit, striking out two in a scoreless frame. The 29-year-old right-hander has been excellent after a slow start.       Manager Scott Servais said postgame that he was "concerned" about the heel injury that held France out of Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Royals, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

      Advice: France was scratched from Saturday's lineup with what was initially deemed a foot injury. However, Servais shared that France is actually dealing with a heel injury that stems from the first baseman being hit by a pitch Friday.       Advice: Castillo had a tough outing as he gave up a season-high five runs in his seventh loss of the season. His offense gave him the lead two separate times Saturday, but he gave it back each time as he snapped a streak of 10 straight starts allowing two earned runs or fewer. Castillo remains one of the more consistent and durable starters in baseball, he's gone at least five innings in all of his 14 starts and will take a 3.35 ERA into his next outing.       Luis Castillo gave up five runs over five innings while allowing four strikeouts against the Royals on Saturday in a loss.

      Advice: Castillo allowed six hits and issued a walk while striking out four. It was easily his worst start since April, as the 31-year-old had gone 10 straight starts while allowing no more than three runs, and only one of those outings saw him give up more than two.
