    • Progressing, could play Wednesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Seager (wrist) is feeling "a lot better" and will talk with the shortstop to see if he's doing well enough to play Wednesday against the Padres, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 30-year-old is currently absent from Texas' starting nine for Wednesday's contest, but there's apparently a chance he's a late addition to the lineup. Regardless of whether or not Seager ends up starting the game, it's an encouraging development for his availability going forward. Rotowire.com Today, 2:26 pm

    • Corey Seager (hand) out of Rangers initial lineup
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the Rangers’ initial starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Padres.

Advice: Rangers’ skipper Bruce Bochy did say that he’ll talk to Seager before the game though and that there’s a chance he could still be added to the lineup. Either way, that bodes well for his status going forward as he seems very close to a return. Expect him back in action on Thursday if he doesn’t talk his way into Wednesday’s lineup. • Placed on paternity list
The Blue Jays placed Turner on the paternity leave list Wednesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Turner will miss a maximum of three games while awaiting the birth of his child, starting with Wednesday's matchup against the Astros. Assuming he is out for the next three games, his return is slated for Saturday's contest against the Mariners. Steward Berroa was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take Turner's spot on the 26-man roster. Rotowire.com Today, 2:13 pm

    • Officially promoted
The Twins selected Lee's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

Advice: Lee will get his first taste of major-league action, filling Royce Lewis' (groin) spot on the active roster. The 23-year-old has been lighting it up at St. Paul, owning a 1.029 OPS and a .306 ISO across 94 plate appearances. He should mix in with Jose Miranda at third base while Lewis is on the IL. • Twins promote top prospect Brooks Lee on Wednesday
Twins selected the contract of INF Brooks Lee from Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: With Royce Lewis (groin) heading back to the injured list, it’ll give Lee an opportunity to show what he can do at the big -league level for the first time. The 23-year-old infielder has hit .350/.412/.585 with seven homers, 26 RBI, two stolen bases and an 18/13 K/BB ratio over 136 plate appearances across three minor league levels this season. Lee will start at third base and bat eighth in his big-league debut against the Tigers on Wednesday night. He’s worth an immediate look in most mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:41 pm

    • On bench again
Seager (wrist) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Seager will be held out of the starting lineup for a third straight contest despite having his X-rays come back negative Monday. Josh Smith will bat second and play shortstop Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:10 pm

    • Heading to bench Wednesday
Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Turner started the previous nine games and will receive a day off after going 10-for-27 with two doubles, 11 walks, five RBI and four runs during that stretch. George Springer will serve as the designated hitter while Addison Barger starts in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:50 pm

    • Expected to be called up
The Twins are expected to call up Lee prior to Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Declan Goff and Darren Wolfson of SKOR North report.

Advice: The news would seem to point to another stint on the injured list for Royce Lewis (groin), although there's nothing official on that yet. The No. 8 overall pick in the 2022 Draft, Lee missed the first two months of the season with a back injury but has slashed an impressive .329/.394/.635 with seven home runs and a 13:9 K:BB over 20 games with Triple-A St. Paul. Lee has mostly played shortstop this season with St. Paul, but he also has experience at second and third base and would figure to take over as the Twins' primary guy at the hot corner if Lewis does indeed have to miss some time. • Goes yard Tuesday
Soler went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Soler hit .284 in June, but he had just three homers over 26 contests for the month. He's off to a decent start in July, though his power remains down overall. The designated hitter is slashing .229/.309/.406 with 10 homers, 32 RBI, 42 runs scored, 17 doubles and no stolen bases through 73 games this season. His .177 ISO is the lowest it's been since the 2017 campaign. Rotowire.com Today, 9:44 am
