    • On bench versus lefty
Conforto is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Angels.

Advice: Conforto will take a seat as the team faces left-hander Patrick Sandoval on the mound. Austin Slater will enter the lineup in left field and bat leadoff against Los Angeles. Rotowire.com Today, 10:04 am
    • Day off Saturday
Marte is not in the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Padres.

Advice: Marte was in the lineup for each of the previous four tilts, but he will receive a day of rest Saturday. DJ Stewart is handling right field for the Mets in this one. Rotowire.com Today, 10:04 am

    • Nails down 21st save
Clase struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 21st save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: After catching Vladimir Guerrero looking on a third strike, Clase coaxed routine groundballs from Bo Bichette and Justin Turner to end the game. The right-hander has converted eight straight save chances, posting a 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB through 10 innings over that stretch, and Clase sits two back of the Cardinals' Ryan Helsley for the major-league saves lead. • Brett Baty raises average to .519 at Triple-A
Brett Baty went 3-for-3 with an RBI on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Baty has torn the cover off the ball since a late-May demotion to the minors, batting an absurd .519 (14-for-27) with three homers and 10 RBI in six games for Triple-A Syracuse. The 24-year-old former top prospect seems to be re-gaining some much-needed confidence at the dish and appears to be also adding some defensive versatility to his toolkit by spending some time at second base recently. It’s unclear when Baty will get another shot in New York, but he’s showed some encouraging signs over the last few weeks away from the spotlight in the upper minors. Rotoworld Today, 3:37 am

    • Goes deep in win
Neto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Giants.

Advice: The shortstop has three homers and 10 RBI over 12 contests in June, going 10-for-43 (.233) this month. Neto may not be making consistent contact, but the increased power is a positive nonetheless. He's maintained a .250/.298/.435 slash line with nine homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored, eight stolen base and 16 doubles through 67 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:03 pm

    • Emmanuel Clase perfect in earning 21st save
Emmanuel Clase pitched a perfect ninth against the Blue Jays for his 21st save Friday.

Advice: Clase gave up single runs in his previous two appearances, but the Blue Jays didn’t threaten tonight. He had particularly good velocity in this one, averaging 100.9 mph with his cutter. That’s up 1.9 mph from his season mark. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Rockies place Elias Díaz (calf) on 10-day IL
Rockies placed C Elias Díaz on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 11, with a left calf strain.

Advice: The 33-year-old backstop tried to take things on a day-to-day basis, but ultimately the Rockies thought that it would be better to sit him down for an extended period of time to allow him to fully heal. Nolan Jones was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm

    • Lands on IL with calf strain
The Rockies placed Diaz on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports..

Advice: Diaz was removed in the bottom half of the first inning of Monday's game against the Twins after straining his left calf while running to first base. He was held out for the rest of that series in the hopes he would be available for a weekend set against Pittsburgh, but instead the 33-year-old heads to the IL. Jacob Stallings got the start at catcher the last two games, and he figures to see most of the action behind the plate while Diaz is sidelined, though Hunter Goodman will provide some depth and will start at catcher for Saturday's game, per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com. • Tosses six effective frames
Severino allowed one run on seven hits and three walks while striking out two batters over six innings in a no-decision versus Miami on Thursday.

Advice: Severino recorded only one 1-2-3 inning and punched out a season-low two batters, but he held the Marlins scoreless until Jake Burger belted a solo homer in the sixth frame. It was the third time in his past four outings that the veteran hurler has yielded exactly one run, and he has a 2.39 ERA and 1.10 WHIP despite a mediocre 16:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings during that span. Severino is on pace for a career-worst 6.9 K/9, but he's been solid otherwise in his first season as a Met, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 78 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:15 am
