    • Shohei Ohtani belts 26th homer in win over Giants
Shohei Ohtani belted his 26th home run of the season on Saturday night, helping to power the Dodgers past the Giants in extra innings.

Advice: The 29-year-old superstar victimized right-hander Spencer Howard in the third inning for his 412-foot (109.7 mph EV) solo shot that briefly gave the Dodgers a 2-1 advantage. He also drew a pair of walks and struck out twice in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-4. One of those walks was intentional in the 11th inning, where he then raced around to score on a two-run double off the bat of Will Smith. On the season, he’s now slashing a robust .321/.405/.645 with 26 long balls, 62 RBI and 16 stolen bases. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

    • Tyler Glasnow hit hard in three innings vs. Giants
Tyler Glasnow was hit hard in no-decision against the Giants on Saturday night, surrendering five runs on seven hits in just three innings of work.

Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander also issued a pair of walks in the contest while recording only one strikeout. The Giants scratched out a run against him on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. They then piled on for five more in the third inning that included run-scoring knocks from Jorge Soler, Andrew Bailey and Matt Chapman. Glasnow generated seven swings and misses on only 61 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of 21 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he carries a 3.23 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and a 136/27 K/BB ratio (103 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Brewers. Rotoworld 52 minutes ago
    • Kwan has two-hit game in win over Royals Saturday
Steven Kwan went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Kwan had only one hit in his last three games, but bounced back with a two-hit game in Kansas City. Kwan has scored 49 runs in 55 games this year. He’s hitting .371 with a .969 OPS and 24 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:09 pm

    • Jackson Merrill homers and doubles in blowout win
Jackson Merrill went 3-for-5 with a homer, double and two RBI in a blowout win Saturday over the Red Sox.

Advice: Merrill continues to impress in his rookie campaign, and his slash after the three-hit game is now a healthy .288/.322/.456. The 21-year-old outfielder swatted a solo homer off Tanner Houck — one of three homers for the Padres off Houck on Saturday — and he drove in a run with a single for good measure. Merrill has superstar fantasy upside, but the current version shown in 2024 is pretty darn good, too. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm
    • Hector Neris works around jam to pick up save
Hector Neris allowed two baserunners, but was able to fire a scoreless inning while picking up a save against the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: The Hector Neris experience is often successful, but it’s always an experience. The right-hander allowed the winning run to reach the plate after giving up a hit and a walk, but he was able to strike out pinch-hitter Tyler Black and Brice Turang to keep the runners off the board and pick up his 11th save of 2024. • Royce Lewis absent from Twins’ lineup on Saturday
Royce Lewis is absent from the Twins’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s showdown against the Mariners.

Advice: The Twins are making sure to mix in days off to keep the 25-year-old superstar fresh and healthy. While that’s disappointing for fantasy managers, at least the goal is keeping him in the lineup and off the injured list. Jose Miranda will cover the hot corner while Trevor Larnach functions as the team’s designated hitter on Saturday evening against Bryce Miller and the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 3:13 pm

    • Receiving breather
Lewis is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle.

Advice: Lewis will get his first day off since June 14, giving way to Jose Miranda at third base Saturday. After hitting nine home runs across his first 16 games of June, Lewis has just one hit in his last 21 at-bats. Rotowire.com Today, 3:08 pm

    • Slugs 11th homer
Merrill went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 9-2 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: The rookie capped San Diego's improbable nine-run fifth inning by sending a Greg Weissert fastball over the fence in straightaway center field. Merrill's power has emerged as the weather has heated up -- while his 11 homers through 82 games is already good for a 21-year-old in his first MLB campaign, eight of those long balls have come in his last 15 contests, a stretch in which he's batting .309 (17-for-55) with 11 runs and 16 RBI. • Secures 16th save
Estevez threw a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over Detroit on Friday.

Advice: Estevez needed only nine pitches to sit down the heart of the Tigers' lineup in order. He's up to 16 saves on the year and has converted 10 straight chances. Since blowing his last save May 10, Estevez has given up just one earned run over 14.1 innings. He's lowered his season ERA to 3.12 with an impressive 27:3 K:BB through 26 appearances.
