    • Three hits in Wednesday's win
Diaz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: The 25-year-old backstop extended his hitting streak to seven games, a stretch in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with seven RBI. Diaz has yet to go yard since taking a foul tip off his finger and missing a few games earlier this month, but his current hot stretch has pushed his slash line on the season up to .271/.298/.415 with seven homers, 32 runs and 40 RBI in 69 contests. • Quality start in no-decision
Singer came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander delivered his sixth quality start of the season on 92 pitches (63 strikes) and completed seven innings for the first time since his first outing of the year, March 31 against the Twins. Despite the impressive performance, Singer left the mound in line for his fifth loss before the Royals' offense woke up in the bottom of the eighth inning. He'll take a 3.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 85:26 K:BB through 89.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Rays. Rotowire.com Today, 3:58 pm
    • Lane Thomas plates two runs in loss to Padres
Lane Thomas smacked a two-run double, drew a pair of walks and scored a run on Wednesday as the Nationals fell to the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: Thomas finally broke through and got the Nationals on the board with a two-run double off of Tom Cosgrove in the ninth inning. He scored later in the frame on a two-run double by Luis Garcia, but the five-run rally in the ninth still fell short. The 28-year-old outfielder was also cut down attempting to steal second base in the ballgame. He finished the afternoon 1-for-2 and is now hitting .243/.302/.431 to go with eight homers, 34 RBI and 17 stolen bases (in 23 attempts) on the season. Rotoworld Today, 3:46 pm

    • Brady Singer settles for no-decision vs. Marlins
Brady Singer allowed one run over 7 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Singer surrendered a run-scoring single to Nick Fortes in the second inning, which represented the lone tally against him in this one. Unfortunately, Kansas City’s offense didn’t respond with any run support until after his exit from the contest when they put up five runs in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old righty finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk in his longest outing of the year so far. He’ll bring a strong 3.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 85/26 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a home matchup on Tuesday against the Rays. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm
    • Nathan Eovaldi gives up first ever grand slam
Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five runs in seven innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

Advice: Jake Bauers’ third-inning grand slam accounted for most of the damage. It was actually the first slam ever surrendered by Eovaldi; the league had hit just .227/.228/.267 in 79 career plate appearances with the bases loaded. He’s allowed a homer in five straight starts after giving up just three total through eight turns. Rotoworld Today, 2:17 pm
    • Nolan Jones doubles, scores run in losing effort
Nolan Jones went 1-for-2 with a double on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Astros.

Advice: It’s been a tough season for Jones on the heels of last year’s unexpected breakthrough campaign, but he’s starting to show some signs of life recently, hitting .279 (12-for-43) with one homer and one steal over his last 15 games. The fact that he’s starting to hit for a little bit of power is an encouraging sign after injuries derailed the first few months of the season for him. Rotoworld Today, 1:59 pm

    • Yainer Diaz tallies three hits, two RBI in win
Yainer Diaz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Astros’ win over the Rockies.

Advice: Diaz opened the scoring with a run-scoring single off Rockies starter Ryan Feltner in the fourth inning before tacking on another RBI single a couple frames later to give Houston a six-run advantage at the time. The 25-year-old backstop got off to a frosty start this season at the dish, but he’s rounded into form of late, batting .351 (20-for-57) with two homers and one steal over his past 15 games. • Ryan Pepiot strikes out eight on Wednesday vs. Mariners
Ryan Pepiot recorded eight strikeouts and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Pepiot carried a shutout into the sixth inning before being lifted from the contest at 88 pitches (54 strikes) after issuing a one-out walk to J.P. Crawford. He wound up being charged with that run when reliever Shawn Armstrong served up a three-run homer to Cal Raleigh later in the frame. The -year-old righty generated 15 swinging strikes, including nine on his four-seam fastball alone, and finished with a respectable 29 percent CSW. It was a nice effort from Pepiot considering he failed to complete five frames in each of his previous two outings. He’ll bring a 4.40 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 83/25 K/BB ratio across 71 2/3 innings (14 starts) into a strong road matchup on Wednesday against the Royals. Rotoworld Today, 1:20 pm

    • Absent from lineup versus righty
Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Naylor took a seat in Tuesday's 10-8 win while southpaw Cade Povich was on the bump, but Naylor's absence Wednesday is more conspicuous against Baltimore right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Naylor could be nursing an unspecified injury, but the Guardians have yet to provide any official confirmation on that front. Jhonkensy Noel was called up from Triple-A Columbus and will enter the lineup at first base Wednesday in place of Naylor. Rotowire.com Today, 12:48 pm
