• Walker Buehler struggles Thursday in rehab start
Walker Buehler (elbow) surrendered two runs over 2 2/3 innings on Thursday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Buehler needed 26 pitches to get through the opening frame and didn’t make it out of the third inning of this one, departing after just 68 pitches. He struck out three and also issued four walks. The big concern here is that he wasn’t able to sufficiently build up his pitch count and might wind up needing another rehab outing before finally returning to Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix. There should be a decision regarding his next step at some point in the coming days. Rotoworld 3 minutes ago
  • Triple, stolen base vs. Guardians
Duran went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Duran drew a walk to lead off the home half of the first inning before swiping his seventh bag of the year. The speedy outfielder would then drive in a pair of runs with a triple in the sixth inning, his first three-bagger this season. Duran is now 5-for-17 with three extra-base hits in his last four contests. He's off to a nice start following a promising 2023 campaign, slashing .301/.366/.422 with a home run, 12 runs scored and nine RBI through his first 20 games. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Homers Thursday
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-7 win over Detroit.

Advice: Garcia put the Rangers ahead 5-4 in the third inning, blasting a solo shot off Kenta Maeda, his fifth of the year. Garcia had cooled off a bit after a torrid start this season, going 2-for-12 in four games prior to Thursday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder is now slashing .311/.361/.568 with 18 RBI, 14 runs scored and four steals through his first 20 games on the campaign. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago

  • Ramps up to 65 pitches
Skenes allowed one hit and two walks while striking out eight across 3.1 scoreless innings in a start with Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

Advice: Skenes has yet to record more than 10 outs in a start this season, but he did increase his pitch count to 65. He was a bit wild with only 37 of his pitches finding the zone, though he generated 11 whiffs on four fastballs, three sliders and three changeups. For the season, Skenes has thrown 12.2 shutout innings while maintaining a 27:4 K:BB. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago
  • Luke Jackson starting rehab assignment Thursday
Luke Jackson (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Single-A San Jose.

Advice: Jackson landed on the injured list nearly three weeks ago after suffering a lower back strain during an Opening Day relief appearance against the Padres. The 32-year-old figures to rejoin San Francisco’s high-leverage relief mix at some point before the end of April. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

  • A’s option struggling Darell Hernaiz to Triple-A
Athletics optioned SS Darell Hernaiz to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: There isn’t exactly a starting spot for Hernaiz in the majors with Nick Allen finally back to full strength, so he’s headed back to the minors to continue playing everyday ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Guardians. The 22-year-old prospect was batting .103 (3-for-29) with two RBI in 17 games for Oakland in his first taste of the big leagues. Rotoworld Today, 5:05 pm

  • Reaches four times Thursday
Canha went 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-7 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Canha continues to provide steady production for the Tigers, as he has an .837 OPS across 18 games. The veteran outfielder recorded a .755 OPS last season and he's actually only finished above .800 once during his career, which came back in 2019 when he posted a .913 OPS and hit a career-high 26 home runs with the Athletics. Even if he slips into the .700 range, Canha should remain a solid if not spectacular fantasy asset. Rotowire.com Today, 5:05 pm

  • Doubles twice in loss
Baez went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-7 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: The doubles were Baez's first of the season, and he's still sitting on just one home run across 17 games. The shortstop isn't hitting a ton of singles either, as he's batting just .172. While he's shown an ability in the past to heat up quickly, his struggles the past few seasons don't instill a ton of confidence. Baez should continue to see regular playing time, however, giving him an opportunity to turn things around. Rotowire.com Today, 5:00 pm

  • Tallies two extra-base hits
Greene went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-7 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: While Greene's batting average is still a bit underwhelming at .239, his .849 OPS is stronger due to eight extra-base knocks through 19 games. In fact, exactly half of the outfielder's hits have gone for extra bases so far. Greene is heating up, and with his ability to leg out doubles or hit the ball over the wall, he should be primed for good numbers the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Today, 4:56 pm
