    • CJ Abrams returns to lineup Tuesday against Mets
CJ Abrams (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets.

Advice: Abrams is back at shortstop and leading off on Tuesday night at Nationals Park following a three-game absence due to shoulder soreness. The 23-year-old probably could’ve used a few days off since he’s been mired in a mini-slump at the dish recently. He’s been phenomenal overall this season with nine homers and eight steals through 53 contests. Rotoworld 2 minutes ago

    • Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Abrams (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the shoulder issue but is back atop the lineup Tuesday for Washington. Abrams will look to get back on track now that he's healthy, as he went 0-for-14 with eight strikeouts in the three games preceding his absence. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago

    • Earns ninth save
Hader earned a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 7-4 lead in the ninth inning, Hader needed only 14 pitches to secure his ninth save of the season. Hader has only allowed one run over his past 11 appearances and is now 9-for-10 in save attempts in 2024. He currently owns a 3.54 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:10 K:BB in 28 innings. • Bregman blasts ninth home run in win Monday
Alex Bergman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Bregman’s ninth of the season. With the Astros trailing by one in the eighth inning, he homered off JoJo Romero to tie the game. Bregman is still hitting just .229 on the season, but his .234 BABIP is significantly lower than his career .280 BABIP. He hit .262 with a .270 BABIP last year so his average should pick up and his .176 ISO is right in line with his .178 ISO last year when he hit 25 home runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Hader picks up ninth save Monday
Josh Hader threw a scoreless inning to get a save against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Hader’s save was his ninth of the season. He struck out one in a perfect inning of work. Hader had a 6.14 ERA in his first 15 appearances, but has since allowed only one run in his last 11 appearances with 21 strikeouts and only three walks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:17 pm

    • CJ Abrams dealing with shoulder soreness on swings
CJ Abrams, out of the lineup for a third straight game Monday, said his shoulder is still bothering him when he swings but that it’s improving each day.

Advice: Abrams hurt the shoulder Friday, but it sounded like he would have played over the weekend if not for an illness he was also dealing with. That illness no longer seems to be a factor, but the shoulder remains a problem, keeping him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:41 pm

Estrada (thumb) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Arizona, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Estrada will miss a third consecutive game after jamming his thumb Friday against the Mets. Brett Wisely will start at second base Monday and bat in the leadoff spot against Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:26 pm

    • Remains out Monday
Abrams (shoulder) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Abrams reported improvement with his left shoulder Monday but still doesn't feel 100 percent when he's swinging a bat, per Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post. He'll miss out on a third consecutive start after he jammed the shoulder last week. With Abrams receiving more rest, Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at shortstop once again. • CJ Abrams (illness) remains out of lineup Monday
CJ Abrams (illness) remains out of the Nationals’ starting lineup for Monday night’s tilt against the Mets.

Advice: It’s the third consecutive contest that the dynamic 23-year-old shortstop has missed due to illness. He’s still considered day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas will start in his place once again and will bat seventh against Tylor Megill and the Mets on Monday evening in Washington. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:43 pm
