    • Could return by Friday
Miranda (back) could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A St. Paul, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Miranda has progressed nicely of late in his recovery from lower-back tightness and his clearance for game action appears imminent. If all goes well, he's likely to need just a couple rehab games before rejoining the Twins ahead of Friday's game in Detroit. With Royce Lewis (adductor) also tracking toward a return Friday to take over at third base, Miranda could see most of his starts at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 am

    • Kicks off rehab assignment
Friedl (hamstring) started in center field and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in a rehab game with Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Advice: Friedl kicked off a rehab assignment, playing seven innings in the field for Louisville before the team's off day Monday. The Reds are hopeful Friedl will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list, so he'll presumably stick around with Louisville for two or three more games to build up at-bats and get his timing down. • Teoscar Hernández knocks in three to lead Dodgers
Teoscar Hernández went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and all three Dodgers runs batted in Monday in a 3-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Hernández had a solo homer in the fourth and RBI singles in the sixth and eighth innings to lead the Dodgers to their 60th win of the year. He’s tied for 11th in the majors with 67 RBI and is alone in 13th place with his 21 homers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:17 pm
    • Drives in all three runs in win
Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two additional RBI in Monday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Hernandez powered the Dodgers' offense Monday. He got them on the board in the fourth inning with a solo shot, then added go-ahead RBI singles in the sixth and eighth frames. The outfielder has gone 13-for-35 (.371) during a nine-game hitting streak, and he's homered in each of the last two contests. He's up to a .268/.330/.491 slash line with 21 homers, 67 RBI, 50 runs scored and four stolen bases over 99 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:30 pm
    • Tagged with fifth loss
Suarez (10-5) took the loss Monday against Minnesota, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After pitching to a 1.75 ERA across his first 15 starts, the Philadelphia southpaw has struggled over his last five outings, generating an unsightly 6.67 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 27 innings. Batters have started hitting Suarez better lately, as he's now allowed six or more knocks in eight consecutive appearances. However, this outing marks the 11th of the season in which the 28-year-old hasn't yielded a long ball. He sports a 0.7 HR/9, which would be a career best for a season in which he was predominantly a starter. Suarez currently lines up to make his next start against Cleveland at home this weekend. • Suarez allows three runs in loss to Twins Monday
Ranger Suarez allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Twins on Monday.

Advice: Suarez gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out four. He allowed an RBI single to Willi Castro in the third inning and a two-run single to Manuel Margot in the fifth inning. Suarez had a 1.83 ERA in his first 16 starts, but has a 7.71 ERA in his last four starts. He’s seen his ERA increase to 2.87 on the year. The 28-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Reynaldo López allows four runs in loss to Reds
Reynaldo López surrendered four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: López coughed up seven hits in his second-half debut, including a solo homer to Will Benson, and was saddled with a loss after Reds counterpart Hunter Greene and a pair of Cincinnati relievers completely shut down Atlanta’s offense. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. The 30-year-old right-hander has vastly exceeded expectations this season, no matter how you slice the data, but he’s given up 18 hits combined over his last two outings, which is a cause for concern. He’ll aim to turn things around on Saturday against the division-rival Mets. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm
    • Allows four runs in loss
Lopez (7-4) took the loss against the Reds on Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Lopez allowed more than three earned runs for the first time all season in his second consecutive loss. He generated 13 swinging strikes on 85 pitches but also yielded nine hard-hit balls and saw his ERA rise above 2.00 for the first time this year. The 30-year-old still leads all starting pitchers with a 2.12 ERA to go along with a 1.19 WHIP and 100:36 K:BB across 101.2 innings. He will try to rebound in a road matchup with the Mets this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:21 pm
    • Strikes out six in win
Skubal (11-3) earned the win against the Guardians on Monday, allowing one run on 10 hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Skubal yielded a run on a bases-loaded bunt in the second inning before tossing five straight scoreless frames. Despite allowing a season-high 10 hits, he generated 15 swinging strikes and logged his fifth consecutive quality start. The southpaw now leads the AL with a 2.34 ERA to go along with a 0.92 WHIP and 146:22 K:BB across 123 innings. He projects for a home matchup with the Twins this weekend.
