    • Not in Tuesday's lineup
Hayes is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Hayes went hitless in four plate appearances in the series opener Monday and will now begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. The Pirates will go with Jared Triolo at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 11:45 am

    • Drives in only run Monday
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a walk in a loss to the Angels on Monday.

Advice: Raleigh opened the scoring on the night with a first-inning single that plated J.P. Crawford (finger), a run that would turn out to be the only one for the Mariners. The 27-year-old snapped an 0-for-16, four-game skid that stretched back to the final game before the All-Star break with the timely knock, but he's now gone six straight contests without an extra-base hit. • Bryan De La Cruz orders combo meal in loss to Mets
Bryan De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and also stole a base on Monday in the Marlins’ loss to the Mets.

Advice: De La Cruz was a one-man wrecking crew in this one, smacking a solo homer off Mets reliever José Butto in the seventh inning for his 17th big fly of the season, and also picked up his third steal of the year as well. The 27-year-old is heating up at the perfect time to inflate his trade value for Miami as he should have some appeal for contending rosters as a versatile outfielder capable of doing damage against left-handed pitching. However, according to multiple reports, the Marlins seem unlikely to move him at the upcoming trade deadline. We’ll see if a team is willing to offer enough prospect capital to change their minds. • Homers in Sunday's win
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Freeman crushed a first-pitch fastball from Kutter Crawford to right-center field to get the Dodgers on the board in the first inning. He now has three homers in his last six games and is up to 16 for the year. Freeman is one of three hitters in the majors with a strikeout rate below 15.0 percent and an ISO greater than .200. The 34-year-old is slashing .292/.305/.503 with 66 RBI, 61 runs and a 58:66 BB:K in 438 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:50 pm

    • Hits for cycle in Sunday's loss
Alvarez went 4-for-4 in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Mariners, hitting for the cycle for the first time in his career while finishing with two RBI and two runs.

Advice: Alvarez made history Sunday by completing the 10th cycle in Astros franchise history. He delivered a single in his first at-bat of the day, then followed with a solo home run in the fourth, an RBI triple in the sixth and a double in the eighth. The home run brings his total up to 20 for the season, a mark he has reached every year of his career outside of the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. Alvarez currently sits tied for eighth in baseball with a 163 OPS+ and is slashing .301/.385/.545 with 54 RBI, 58 runs and a 42:63 BB:K in 405 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:01 am

    • Efficient in win
Woo (4-1) got the win over the Astros on Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out five over 5.2 innings.

Advice: All the significant damage against Woo came off the bat of Yordan Alvarez, who clubbed a solo home run in the fourth inning before lacing an RBI triple in the sixth en route to a cycle. Woo only threw 73 pitches, but Sunday was his longest outing since he went six innings June 6. It was also the sixth time in 10 starts this season he hasn't issued a walk. It was an excellent bounce back effort from the 24-year-old after his worst start of the year July 12. Woo will carry a 2.54 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 34:5 K:BB in 49.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come against the White Sox over the weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:24 am

    • Collects 18th save
Fairbanks picked up the save Sunday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk over one inning against the Yankees. He struck out one.

Advice: Fairbanks entered the ninth with a three-run lead, but a walk and a Juan Soto RBI double led to Aaron Judge coming to the plate as the tying run. Fairbanks then induced Judge to fly out and struck out Austin Wells to end the threat, closing out his 18th game of the season. It was the third time in his last five appearances Fairbanks has allowed an earned run, though he's earned a save in each of those five outings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:23 pm

    • Five walks lead to early exit
Baz did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees, allowing no runs on four hits and five walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: On the plus side, Baz was able to keep the Yankees off the board during his first scoreless outing in three starts this season. However, he recorded only 10 outs while allowing nine batters to reach base, issuing a career-high five bases on balls. Baz has a pedigree for success as a former highly touted prospect, and he pitched well in Triple-A prior to his July 5 call-up, posting a 1.57 ERA with 35 strikeouts across 23 innings. His next start is tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Rays host the Reds. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:53 pm

    • Allows four runs in no-decision
Ryan did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out six.

Advice: Ryan started strong, managing to avoid pitching from the stretch through four innings, with a third-inning two-out solo homer from Eric Haase representing the only batter to reach base against him. Ryan then ran into trouble in the fifth, allowing hits to four of the first five batters he faced with three runs crossing the plate. He managed to complete the sixth in line for the win, but a leaky bullpen prevented him from grabbing his seventh victory of the season. Ryan has now allowed nine runs through 11.1 innings over his last two starts, though his season stats remain impressive. Through 20 starts, Ryan has completed 120.2 innings with a 3.65 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 130 strikeouts. He's currently projected to next take the hill when the Twins travel to Detroit to take on the Tigers next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:15 pm
