    • Jordan Romano (elbow) unavailable on Friday night
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters after Friday’s game that Jordan Romano was unavailable due to elbow soreness.

Advice: The right-handers’ elbow didn’t bounce back after his last outing against the White Sox, which is seemingly cause for concern. The Blue Jays are playing it as a day-to-day situation for the time being, but it’s something that fantasy managers should be sure to keep a close eye on. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm

    • Back in action Friday
Alonso (hand) is playing first and batting second during Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Alonso was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but after a clean CT scan and a day off Thursday, the first baseman will rejoin the Mets' starting nine. Alonso owns a .771 OPS and has the third most homers among first basemen this season with 12. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm

    • Not in Friday's lineup
De La Cruz is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: De La Cruz will receive a day off after going 0-for-12 with five strikeouts in the Marlins' last series in San Diego. Josh Bell will be the designated hitter in this one while Jake Burger plays first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:36 am
    • Records first steal in loss
Crawford went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in a loss to the Astros on Thursday.

Advice: The veteran shortstop was one of only two Mariners to reach base multiple times on a quiet night for the team's offense. Crawford also snagged his first steal of the campaign and has reached safely in eight of 11 games since his return from the IL, but he still carries a paltry .208/.301/.328 slash line across 143 plate appearances for the season. • Records fifth steal in loss
Gelof went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in an extra-innings loss to the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: Gelof snapped an 0-for-18 slump with a single, while his steal was his fifth of the season but first since April 21. Last season's encouraging rookie campaign is increasingly in the rearview mirror for Gelof, who's now sitting on a .176 batting average and .512 OPS across 162 plate appearances. A significant season-over-season increase in strikeout rate (27.3 percent to 34.6 percent) and a notable decrease in line-drive rate (25.5 percent to 16.5 percent) have contributed to a steep drop in his BABIP (.331 to .258). • J.P. Crawford walks twice, steals base in M’s loss
J.P. Crawford walked twice and stole a base on Thursday in the Mariners’ shutout loss at the hands of the Astros.

Advice: Crawford also made one of the highlight reel-worthy defensive plays of the entire season in the seventh inning of this one, flipping the ball to double-play partner Dylan Moore to rob Mauricio Dubón of a surefire single up the middle. The 29-year-old shortstop is batting .231 (9-for-39) with one homer and one steal since returning from the injured list back on May 20. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:45 pm
    • Held out of lineup Thursday
Alonso (hand) is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Alonso managed to avoid any fractures after exiting Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers following a hit-by-pitch on the right hand. However, he is dealing with a painful bone bruise that will cause him to miss at least one start. Mark Vientos will handle first base Thursday while Brett Baty covers third base. • Pete Alonso day-to-day with bone bruise in hand
Pete Alonso is day-to-day with a bone bruise in his right hand.

Advice: Hey, that’s one piece of good news for the Mets. Alonso underwent a battery of additional testing and imaging, including a CT scan, X-rays and an MRI, which didn’t reveal any structural damage. The 29-year-old impending free agent may miss a couple of games as he deals with soreness, and some likely inflammation, but it appears he avoided any major injury here and should be back in New York’s lineup relatively soon. Even though he’s not producing at the level you expected when you drafted him, he’s too talented to leave out of your fantasy lineup once he returns. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:46 am

    • CT scan confirms no fracture
Alonso is day-to-day after a CT scan confirmed he didn't suffer a fracture when he was hit by a pitch in the right hand during Wednesday's 10-3 loss to the Dodgers, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

Advice: X-rays and now a CT scan have both come back negative, as Alonso has managed to avoid a serious injury and is dealing with a bone bruise to his right hand. It's possible he'll still miss a game or two if he remains sore, but the veteran first baseman looks poised to avoid a stint on the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:05 am
