    • Continues to roll with 19th save
Diaz earned a save against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Diaz entered in the ninth frame to protect a one-run lead and was successful despite issuing a leadoff walk. The Cincinnati closer has tossed seven straight scoreless outings, allowing just one hit during that span while recording five saves. Diaz has rebounded well from his early-season struggles, as he's been successful in each of his past 13 save opportunities and has registered a 1.53 ERA across 17.2 frames over that stretch. • Opens scoring with homer
Machado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Machado has picked up the pace in the power department with five homers over his last 12 contests. He's batting .354 (17-for-48) in that span while adding 14 RBI. The third baseman is up to .264/.314/.411 slash line with 11 homers, 47 RBI, 39 runs scored and five stolen bases over 82 contests. Considering he's exceeded 30 homers seven times in his career, it shouldn't be surprising if he has a big second half in 2024, though his slow start could prevent him from reaching that milestone this year. • Christian Walker homers twice in win over Dodgers
Christian Walker went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored, and four RBI in a 12-4 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: After drawing a walk in the first inning, Walker knocked a base hit in the third for his second hit. He followed with a solo homer in the fourth, his second in as many days against the Dodgers. Walker added a double in the sixth and scored on a home run by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. before blasting his second homer of the game with a three-run shot in the ninth. The 33-year-old slugger is hitting .267/.339/.506 with 20 homers and 59 RBI across 369 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:40 pm
    • Ryan Pepiot all over the place against Royals
Ryan Pepiot labored through four innings on Wednesday against the Royals. He allowed four hits and three walks without striking out a batter in a no-decision.

Advice: Pepiot could not place his fastball in this one. Too many were in the heart of the zone and so many more were way off the plate. Of the 43 pitches he threw, the Royals swung-and-missed at just one and took only four called strikes. That’s untenable for a pitch he threw 49% of the time. Without it working, he kept falling behind and had to grind through difficult innings. Things will not get easier in his next scheduled start against the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Alexis Díaz quiets Yankees to notch 19th save
Alexis Díaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Yankees to record his 19th save of the season.

Advice: Díaz was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the final frame at Yankee Stadium and immediately got into trouble by issuing a leadoff walk to light-hitting backstop Austin Wells. Fortunately, he managed to wriggle out of the jam by coaxing a double-play ball from ensuing batter Anthony Volpe before getting Juan Soto to fly out to extinguish the threat. He’s converted 19 of 21 save opportunities this season for Cincinnati. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm

Aaron Judge led all vote getters in Phase 1 of voting for the All-Star Game and was named to his sixth American League All-Star squad on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s the fourth straight year that Judge will represent the American League in the Mid-Summer Classic. Here’s who will join him in the starting lineup for the American League All-Stars (with their number of times making the All-Star team and starting in the game in parentheses): 1B: Vladimir Guerrero (4 - 3x starter), 2B: Jose Altuve (9, 6x starter), SS: Gunnar Henderson (1 - 1x starter), 3B; Jose Ramirez (6 - 3x starter), C: Adley Rutschman (2 - 1x starter), OF: Aaron Judge (6 - 6x starter), Juan Soto (4 - 1x starter), Steven Kwan (1- 1x starter) and DH: Yordan Alvarez (3 - 1x starter). • Blue Jays place Justin Turner on paternity list
Blue Jays placed INF Justin Turner on the paternity list.

Advice: The 39-year-old slugger will be away from the team for at least a couple of days as he welcomes a new addition to his family. Steward Berroa was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take his place on the Jays’ active roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:48 pm

    • Receiving Wednesday off
O'Hoppe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: O'Hoppe is in the midst of a modest six-game hit streak and has gone 8-for-19 with two homers and three walks during that span, but he'll sit Wednesday after making five straight starts. Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate to catch for righty Davis Daniel. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Josh Jung won’t return until after All-Star break
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Wednesday that Josh Jung (wrist) will be shut down until next week to rest his injured wrist.

Advice: The Rangers are hopeful that after resting for a few days that he’ll be ready to go out on a minor league rehab assignment. While it’s not a major setback, it does mean that Jung won’t rejoin the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to continue practicing patience in the meantime.
