    • Trea Turner plates lone run in loss to Braves
Trea Turner went 1-for-4 and drove in the Phillies’ lone run in Saturday night’s loss to the Braves.

Advice: Turner got the Phillies on the board with a run-scoring single off of Spencer Schwellenbach in the third inning that plated Johan Rojas. That would be all of the offense that they could muster in the contest. The 31-year-old shortstop has been terrific when he has been on the field this season, hitting .340/.383/.505 with seven homers, 23 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 50 games. • Homers, two hits in win
Verdugo went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 14-4 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Verdugo hit a two-run home run in the third inning and then singled and scored in the fifth. He hit just .219 with one homer in June but has registered two multi-hit efforts in his past three games and continues to hit in the middle of the Yankees lineup. The outfielder's current .246 average is well below his .277 career mark, but he has contributed 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 42 runs scored across 364 plate appearances in 2024. • Diaz picks up eighth save against Pirates Saturday
Edwin Diaz tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Diaz slammed the door on the Pirates to preserve a 5-2 victory for New York. The save was his eighth of the season and first since returning from a 10-game suspension for using an illegal foreign substance. The Mets had the league’s worst bullpen ERA while he was out. The team and fantasy managers are happy to see him back out there. Rotoworld Today, 4:32 pm
    • George Springer reaches four times in victory
George Springer scored twice and reached four times against the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Springer played the role of leadoff man well Saturday while picking up a couple of knocks and a pair of free passes. The outfielder has been swinging the bat far more effectively recently, but this good run still has him hitting just .221/.313/.354. It’s more than understandable to be skeptical of success for Springer — at least in a fantasy role — for the second half of 2024. Rotoworld Today, 4:08 pm

    • Clase picks up AL-leading 26th save vs. Giants
Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: The save was Clase’s 26th of the year. With another scoreless appearance, his ERA is down to 0.65. Only Ryan Helsley of the Cardinals has more saves than Clase does this year. Rotoworld Today, 3:56 pm
    • Logan O’Hoppe drives in two runs Saturday
Logan O’Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored in the Angels’ 7-0 win against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: O’Hoppe was hit by a pitch in the first inning, then knocked a base hit to drive in a run in the third before scoring on a throwing error. He was credited with another RBI on a groundout in the fourth, then reached for a third time with a double in the eighth. The 24-year-old backstop is slashing an excellent .279/.331/.473 with 12 homers and 40 RBI across 285 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Alex Verdugo blasts two-run homer in win
Alex Verdugo went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Verdugo launched a two-run homer off Josh Winckowski in the third inning, then knocked a base hit in the fifth before scoring on a bases loaded walk as the Yankees brought seven runs in to score in the frame. The 28-year-old outfielder is hitting .246/.302/.401 with ten homers and 45 RBI across 364 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:14 pm

    • Justin Turner back from paternity leave Saturday
Blue Jays activated 1B Justin Turner from the paternity list.

Advice: Turner is back for Saturday’s game against the Mariners following a three-game stint away from the club on paternity leave. The 39-year-old veteran slugger holds a lackluster .734 OPS with five homers and 27 RBI in 284 plate appearances over 74 games this season in his Toronto debut. Rotoworld Today, 10:57 am

    • Back from paternity leave
The Blue Jays reinstated Turner from the paternity list Saturday.

Advice: Turner won't start Saturday's game against Seattle, but he should retain his role as the Jays' primary designated hitter after spending three days away from the team for the birth of his child. The 39-year-old has slashed .250/.359/.375 on the season, though he boasts a 1.009 OPS over his last nine contests. Addison Barger was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
