    • Daulton Varsho goes hitless versus Astros
Daulton Varsho went hitless in a seventh consecutive start Monday, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.

Advice: Varsho did get a hit off the bench Saturday, but he’s 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts since June 19, dropping his average to .197. There’s too much homer and steal potential here to make Varsho droppable in fantasy leagues, but it’s tempting. Of course, he’s especially valuable in 6x6 leagues that include 280-foot flyouts as a category. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Productive in Sunday's loss
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to to the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: Crawford reached safely for the 10th straight game with his single, pushing his average to a solid .263 over that span. The stolen base was Crawford's fourth of the season, his highest total since the 2020 campaign. While the veteran shortstop's current stretch of hitting is easily his most productive of the season, Crawford is still sitting on a .215 average and .674 OPS across 61 games. • Surrenders three runs Sunday
Castillo allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three over five innings Sunday against the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: The Twins struck early with a run in the first on two base hits. Castillo went on to retire 11 of the next 12 batters he faced but then ran into more trouble in the fifth, allowing a double and two more singles, which led to another pair of runs for the Twins. He was able to work his way through the inning, but his day would end there at 77 pitches. Castillo managed to not give up any free passes for the first time since May 12, though he's also failed to complete six innings in four of his last five starts. He still holds a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103:30 K:BB in 104.2 innings and projects to take the mound again to kick off a weekend series with Toronto. • Luis Castillo grabs a bat Sunday against Twins
Luis Castillo struck out three and allowed three runs over five innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: What a mess. Castillo was forced to grab a bat, and struck out looking in the fourth inning, after Seattle lost the designated hitter earlier in the contest when Mitch Haniger left the game following a hit by pitch. The 31-year-old righty was simply outdueled by Twins starter Joe Ryan, who limited the Mariners to just a pair of runs into the sixth inning before the bullpen took over and pretty much shut things down completely from there on out. He’ll bring a respectable 3.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 103/30 K/BB ratio across 104 2/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:31 pm

    • Notches eight strikeouts in win
Peralta (6-4) picked up the win Sunday against the Cubs, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.

Advice: Peralta yielded a solo home run to Nico Hoerner in the opening frame, but the 28-year-old was locked in afterwards, yielding just one other hit to notch his seventh quality start of the season. The right-hander has shown an impressive ability to miss bats, registering an 11.6 K/9 that ranks in the 95th percentile. Despite the lofty strikeout totals, Peralta has been mildly disappointing this season, logging a pedestrian 3.83 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 94 innings. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:47 pm

    • Peralta strikes out eight, picks up sixth win
Freddy Peralta allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Brewer’s 7-1 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Peralta gave up two hits, walked two and struck out eight. It was his sixth win of the season and third in June. Peralta has completed at least six innings and struck out eight batters in two of his last three starts. That’s a real positive considering that before that stretch he had completed six innings in just one of his previous six starts. Peralta has a 3.83 ERA on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander has a tough matchup against the Dodgers on the road next weekend.

    • Officially shut down for season
Triple-A Toledo placed Lange (lat) on its full-season injured list Friday.

Advice: The transaction confirms that the surgery Lange underwent this past week to address a right lat avulsion was indeed season-ending. Though the right-handed reliever is currently on the minor-league IL, the Tigers could recall him and place him on the major-league 60-day IL if the team needs to open up a spot on the 40-man roster at any point. Per Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press, Lange is optimistic that he'll be back to full health for the start of spring training in 2025. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:41 pm

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Ruiz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Ruiz has a .639 OPS in his past 10 games and will head to the bench for the series finale in Tampa Bay. Drew Millas will step in behind the plate to catch for lefty Patrick Corbin. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:31 am

    • Resting against southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lowe will sit for the second time in the series against Washington while the Nationals send another southpaw (Patrick Corbin) to the hill. Jonny DeLuca will pick up the start in right field in Lowe's stead. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:32 am
