    • Dominant in Wednesday's win
Sale (11-3) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Sale has allowed just one run in each of his last three starts, though he was unlucky to come away with just two wins in that span. His 11 wins rank first in the National League, and Sale is tied with Kansas City's Seth Lugo for the major-league lead. Sale is now at a 2.71 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 127:19 K:BB through 99.2 innings over 16 starts this season. The southpaw's next start is projected to be on the road in Arizona. • Chris Sale’s dominance continues against Giants
Chris Sale struck out nine batters across six innings in a 3-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday while allowing just one run. He walked two batters and earned his league-leading 11th win of the season.

Advice: Once again, Sale was magnificent in this start. The Giants were helpless against his vaunted slider as it earned five swings-and-misses and an additional 12 called strikes. He was ahead in the count all night and showed a willingness to use that slider in whatever count he needed it. His 11th win tied Seth Lugo for the league lead and he could be well on his way to his first Cy Young award at 35-years-old. What a remarkable season it’s been for Sale. • Mitch Garver (wrist) held out again Wednesday
Mitch Garver (wrist) was held out of the Mariners’ starting lineup for the second consecutive night on Wednesday.

Advice: Garver was pulled from Sunday’s game with a right wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch and then sat out Tuesday’s contest as well. There’s no indication that he’s dealing with any structural damage or that he’ll require a trip to the injured list, so it sounds like the M’s will continue to take things day-to-day. • Still out of lineup Wednesday
Garver (wrist) is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: Garver will sit for a second straight game after he was struck in the right wrist by a pitch in Sunday's game against the Twins. Jorge Polanco will serve as the designated hitter Wednesday and bat sixth against Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:10 pm

    • Described as pain-free
Yamamoto is no longer feeling pain in his right shoulder, but he hasn't yet started throwing, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Yamamoto was diagnosed with a right rotator cuff strain two days after being able to complete only two innings in his most recent start June 15. While the rookie right-hander is now pain-free, he isn't yet throwing, and manager Dave Roberts indicated that there's no clear timeframe for when the hurler will pick up a ball again. The organization figures to be cautious with Yamamoto, and he almost certainly won't return to action until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:55 pm

    • Homers in second straight
Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Vaughn got the scoring going with a home run in the first inning, his 11th of the season and second in as many matchups. He also extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 7-for-16 with five RBI and six runs scored. The recent stretch has also brought Vaughn's OPS to .701, its highest mark at any point this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:12 am

    • Notches 15th save
Doval struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 15th save of the season in a 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander was in peak form, whiffing Adam Duvall with a 100.6 mph cutter to end the game. Doval blew his last save chance Friday, though, and consistency has been an issue for him all year -- through 33.2 innings, he's posted a 4.28 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB, a significant step backward from his ratios the prior two seasons. • Another multi-hit game
Altuve went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Toronto.

Advice: For the sixth time in seven games, Altuve generated multiple hits, tagging the Blue Jays for three singles Tuesday. During that stretch, Altuve is 13-for-31 (.419) with a pair of home runs and three stolen bases. He ranks top five in homers, batting average and stolen bases among second basemen this season. • Swats extra-inning homer
Alonso went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Nationals in 10 innings.

Advice: Alonso capped off the Mets' five-run 10th inning with a two-run blast off Robert Garcia, the first baseman's 18th home run of the campaign. He's riding a six-game hit streak, batting 8-for-24 (.333) with six runs and five RBI during that span. Alonso owns an .810 OPS with a 20.3 percent strikeout rate on the season, and the former is actually the lowest figure of his career in that category. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:46 pm
