    • Garrett Crochet strikes out eight in no-decision
Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

Advice: Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come. A chance to impress is scheduled over the weekend against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:18 pm

    • Delivers another quality start
Crochet didn't factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Crochet's now logged quality starts in five of his last six outings, posting a stellar 1.03 ERA in that span (35 innings). The 24-year-old left-hander continues to provide a bright spot on a rebuilding White Sox team -- Crochet's ERA is down to 3.49 on the year with a 0.93 WHIP and 93 strikeouts, good for second most in the league. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently slated for next week at home against Boston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:00 pm

    • Not starting against lefty
Cruz isn't in the Pirates' lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: With lefty Yusei Kikuchi starting for Toronto, the left-handed bat of Cruz will step out of the lineup Saturday. Nick Gonzales will slide over to play shortstop while Jared Triolo covers the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 am

    • Back in lineup Friday
Semien returned to the starting lineup and went 1-for-4 in Friday's 8-2 loss to Miami.

Advice: Semien was back in the lineup after he sat out Wednesday's game, breaking a streak of 349 consecutive regular-season starts. As it turns out, Semien was dealing with the residual effects of a collision with teammate Adolis Garcia, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Semien was feeling "banged up," which was the reason he sat out Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:06 am

    • Goes yard twice in win
Rafaela went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 7-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Per Ian Browne of MLB.com, Rafaela has made some tweaks to his swing mechanics in an attempt to get going at the plate, and the adjustments seem to be paying off. The 23-year-old put together his first career multi-homer game by launching a three-run shot off Kenta Maeda in the fourth inning before tagging Joey Wentz for a two-run blast in the sixth that just cleared the Green Monster. Over the last 11 games, Rafaela is batting .289 (11-for-38) with three homers, two steals, nine runs and 10 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:02 am

    • Marcus Semien returns to lineup Friday vs. Marlins
Marcus Semien singled on Friday in his return to the Rangers’ lineup.

Advice: Semien was held out of the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Diamondbacks due to some lingering general soreness following a collision with teammate Adolis García earlier this month. The 33-year-old ironman had made 349 consecutive starts for the Rangers since May 12, 2022. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:40 am

    • Hits grand slam off bench
Adell hit a grand slam as a pinch hitter in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Adell erased a four-run deficit when he checked into the game in the seventh inning, replacing Matt Thaiss. The homer also ended a 1-for-31 dry spell for Adell, who went 11-for-43 (.256) prior to that slump. The outfielder is already at 11 homers on the year while adding 27 RBI, eight stolen bases, 24 runs scored, four doubles and a triple over 162 plate appearances. Despite that success in counting stats, he's still batting just .211, though he's made up for it with a .476 slugging percentage. Rotowire.com Friday, 11:06 pm

    • Converts 12th save
Munoz allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Munoz's scoreless streak is up to six innings, and he allowed just one run over 13.1 innings in May while converting all seven of his save chances during the month. The closer is 12-for-13 in save chances this year. He's been hard to hit with a 1.42 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB over 25.1 innings as the Mariners' top ninth-inning option. Munoz needs one more save to match his career high from last year. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:48 pm
    • Takes second loss
Hicks (4-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Friday.

Advice: Aaron Judge did most of the damage against Hicks, taking him deep for a three-run home run in the third inning and a solo shot in the sixth. The five runs allowed were the most Hicks has given up in a start this season, though it was a positive to see him issue no walks for the fourth time in 12 outings. Homers are becoming a problem for the right-hander -- he's allowed five of them over his last four starts after giving up just one across his first eight outings. For the season, Hicks is at a strong 2.70 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and 52:19 K:BB over 63.1 innings. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Arizona. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:34 pm
