      Advice: Quantrill had logged five straight quality starts, but this was always going to be a tough matchup, even away from Coors Field. The Dodgers got to him for two runs in the second inning and never looked back. Quantrill has still put together a respectable first season with the Rockies, posting a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50:25 K:BB over 68 innings across 12 starts. His 3.3 BB/9 is still a holdover concern from last year, and he'll never be one to strike out a lot of batters, but he's generally been reliable.       Megill (elbow) threw a perfect inning while striking out three Saturday against the White Sox.

      Advice: Megill appeared in the seventh inning in a tied game. Megill was struck on the right elbow by a comebacker in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. X-rays came back negative, but he still needed a few days off. It looks like he's back to full speed and should step back into the closer mix despite appearing earlier in the game Saturday.       Advice: Rooker extended the Athletics' lead to 8-3 with his 421-foot blast in the fourth inning with Max Schuemann aboard, and he then erased a 9-8 deficit in the sixth by bringing home Miguel Andujar and Schuemann with a timely two-bagger. The pair of extra-base hits pushed Rooker's total in that category to 24 (out of 49 total hits), and he's now reached safely in 12 straight games while getting on at a stellar .388 clip in that span.       Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs in a loss for the Royals to the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Pasquantino hit a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the first inning to give Kansas City a 2-1 lead, and he gave the Royals another lead with an RBI single two innings later. The 26-year-old has driven home 39 runs over KC’s 60 games, and the homer was his seventh.
