• Rockies designate Alan Trejo for assignment
Rockies designated INF Alan Trejo for assignment.

Advice: Trejo lost his 40-man spot over the winter, only to make the Rockies as non-roster player this spring. Alas, he hit just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances in his utility role. Trejo is a fine defender, but since he has so little to offer offensively, he’ll probably clear waivers again. Rotoworld Today, 12:37 pm

  • Triples, swipes bag in win
De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over St. Louis.

Advice: The star shortstop kicked things off for Cincinnati with an RBI triple in the first inning to score Jonathan India. De la Cruz would then add another two singles in the contest, giving him his fifth three-hit performance this month and third in his last six games. Over that latter stretch he's batting .464 (13-for-28) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored. He also swiped his league-leading 38th bag Thursday after failing to record a steal over his previous eight games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:22 am

  • Garcia hits RBI triple in win over Guardians
Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a triple, and an RBI against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season. • Goes deep, swipes bag in win
Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Thursday's 5-3, 10-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Hoerner blasted his third home run of the season in the third inning with a runner on and also stole his 14th base of the year The infielder is not known as a big power threat, as his career best in homers for a season is only 10, but he is a capable baserunner. Hoerner swiped a career-high 43 bases last year, and he had 20 stolen bases in 2022. Fantasy managers will hope he continues to run frequently the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 pm

  • Trea Turner reaches three times in losing effort
Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with three runs scored on Thursday in the Phillies’ loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Turner also drew a walk in this one, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances. The 30-year-old shortstop is batting .300 (12-for-40) with one homer and zero steals since returning from the injured list back on June 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm

  • Nico Hoerner homers, steals base in victory
Nico Hoerner went 3-for-5 with a homer and a stolen base for the Cubs in an extra-inning win over the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Hoerner swatted a two-run blast off Jordan Hicks in the third inning to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. That’s only the third homer of the season for the 27-year-old, but the steal was already the 14th of the year. Hoerner missed time with a hairline fracture in his hand, and he’s a good bet to see a much higher average than the .246 mark he’s put up thus far in the second half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:51 pm

  • Expecting to play Friday
Correa (wrist) anticipates that he will be in the lineup Friday against the Mariners, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Correa was hit in the wrist by a pitch Thursday in the seventh inning and immediately left the game. X-rays came back clean, and he told reporters after the game that he's confident he'll be in the lineup to start the Twins' series against Seattle on Friday. There has not been confirmation from the team the Correa will start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:31 pm
