• Idle against lefty
Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Fraley and fellow lefty hitter Will Benson will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the slab for Arizona. Luke Maile and Stuart Fairchild will join the lineup as the starters at designated hitter and in right field, respectively, while Fraley and Benson sit. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

  • Sitting against lefty
Benson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Benson and fellow lefty hitter Jake Fraley will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the slab for Arizona. • Checks back into starting nine
Espinal will start at third base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Espinal saw a streak of six consecutive starts come to an end in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Arizona, and before that, he enjoyed a stretch of 11 consecutive starts. He looks as though he could fall into regular playing time once again, as the Reds placed Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Jeimer Candelario will move over from his usual spot at third base to cover Encarnacion-Strand's post at first base, opening up the hot corner for Espinal. Despite seeing plenty of usage in his utility role this season, Espinal has provided the Reds with underwhelming numbers (.169 average, one home run, four stolen bases, 12 RBI and five runs) across 90 plate appearances. • Sits out Wednesday
Jeffers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: He will be given a breather while Christian Vazquez does the catching for Chris Paddack. Jeffers has been fantasy's No. 3 catcher so far in Roto leagues, hitting .299 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago
  • Moves past sore knee
Wilson (knee) has made two relief appearances since exiting early in a 6-4 loss to the Padres on April 30, recording two outs while surrendering four earned runs on four hits and no walks.

Advice: After leaving the April 30 game when he took a line drive off his right knee, Wilson was sent in for X-rays, which revealed no major damage. He went unused for the next couple of days before he was summoned out of the bullpen Friday and Tuesday. He struck out the lone batter he faced in Friday's 3-0 loss to Baltimore, but he was bludgeoned for four hits -- including two home runs -- in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Arizona. • Taking seat Wednesday
McCarthy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: McCarthy maintains a .369 on-base percentage over 86 plate appearances this season and has seemingly moved into an everyday role in the outfield while Alek Thomas (hamstring) is on the shelf, but the 26-year-old will hit the bench Wednesday. The Diamondbacks haven't indicated that the lefty-hitting McCarthy is dealing with an injury, but he was lifted for a pinch hitter in Tuesday's 6-2 win and is now on the bench Wednesday while the Reds bring a right-hander (Graham Ashcraft) to the hill. Pavin Smith will replace McCarthy in the Arizona outfield. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
  • Jo Adell homers, knocks in two to lead Angels
Jo Adell went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI as the Angels edged the Pirates 5-4 on Wednesday.

Advice: Adell, who hit second in three straight games last week, entered in a 1-for-20 slump, so he was back down to eighth in the Angels lineup today. Manager Ron Washington keeps trying to go with the hot hand at the top of the order, but he can’t seem to get the timing right. Adell is batting .259/.311/.506, which is the best line sported by any currently healthy Angels player. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • José Soriano can’t get through five versus Pirates
José Soriano allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Soriano struck out six and opened up with 4 1/3 scoreless innings before a double snapped a streak of nine straight batters retired. He got one more out immediately afterwards, but he then walked two, gave up a three-run double to Oneil Cruz and an RBI single to Connor Joe, which ended his day. There’s a great deal to like about Soriano’s stuff, but considering that he never worked as a starter above A-ball coming into this season, he’s not at all a finished product. He’ll get more consistent, but since he’s likely to be on a pretty restrictive innings limit, he might not be much of a factor in fantasy leagues until next year. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Carlos Estévez perfect in earning sixth save
Carlos Estévez worked a perfect ninth against the Pirates for his sixth save Wednesday.

Advice: Estévez had given up six runs in his previous five appearances, but he had an easy time today, striking out two of the three batters he faced. This was his second straight day pitching, so he’ll probably need Thursday off. That could create a save chance for Luis García. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago
