• Absence continues Tuesday
Devers (knee) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Cleveland, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: The expectation was that Devers would return to action Tuesday versus the Guardians coming off Monday's team off day, but he'll instead be out of the lineup for the fifth straight game due to the bone bruise on his left knee. It's unclear if the 27-year-old suffered some sort of setback, but he should continue to be considered day-to-day for now. Pablo Reyes is starting at the hot corner and batting ninth. • Rafael Devers not in lineup for Red Sox Tuesday
Rafael Devers (knee) is not in the starting lineup for the Red Sox against the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: This past weekend, Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Devers could return to the lineup on Tuesday, but that’s not the case. The 27-year-old is still dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee and it looks like the Red Sox are being extra cautious with him. Pablo Reyes will be at third base for Boston. • Straight-line running Tuesday
Urshela (hamstring) did some straight-line running drills Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: It's a good sign that he's already doing some running just a few days after landing on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. Urshela will eventually progress to running the bases and could need a short rehab assignment before rejoining the Tigers. Rotowire.com Today, 11:18 am

  • Goes through full workout
Ibanez (hamstring) went through a full workout at second base on the field Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: McCosky added that Ibanez didn't appear to be favoring his left hamstring at all. The veteran utility player would appear to be close to beginning a rehab assignment, with a return before the end of the month possible. Once he rejoins the Tigers, most of Ibanez's playing time figures to come against lefties. Rotowire.com Today, 11:16 am

  • Yankees send DJ LaMahieu on rehab assignment
Yankees sent DJ LaMahieu on a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset.

Advice: The team was targeting LaMahieu to make a rehab assignment tonight and it looks like they are right on schedule with the 35-year-old. LaMahieu has been recovering from a fractured foot he suffered in the spring and could be a nice boost for the Yankees’ offense who have scored zero runs in two of their past three games. It’s unclear when he’ll make his return to the active roster, but this is a step in the right direction for the veteran infielder. Rotoworld Today, 10:36 am

  • Records third steal
Chapman went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Advice: Chapman is up to three steals this year, two of which have come over the last three contests. The third baseman has gone 8-for-24 (.333) with four RBI and six extra-base hits over his last seven contests. He's slashing .226/.280/.430 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and seven doubles through 100 plate appearances, but his recent performances suggest he's trending in the right direction. • Breaks slump with walk-off blast
Gorman hit a two-run, walk-off home run in his lone at-bat in Monday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gorman was given Monday off, but ultimately entered the game as a defensive replacement. His lone at-bat ended the game, as he took Kyle Nelson deep in the ninth inning to complete the Cardinals' comeback win. Gorman has four homers, 10 RBI, six runs scored and three doubles over 84 plate appearances this season, but he's slashing just .179/.238/.372 and striking out at a 38.1 percent clip, so he's not out of the woods yet. Gorman should continue to play against most right-handers, but he'll rarely be in the lineup versus southpaws. Rotowire.com Today, 10:21 am

  • Rehab assignment will be brief
LeMahieu (foot) has said he expects to play "less than five" rehab games before being activated, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: LeMahieu is beginning a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday. Assuming the Yankees concur with the infielder's assessment of how many rehab games he will require, it sounds like he could be back as soon as the weekend series in Milwaukee. LeMahieu has been out all season with a a bone bruise and non-displaced fracture in his right foot. Oswaldo Cabrera's production has slowed since a hot start, so LeMahieu should quickly regain his role as the primary third baseman. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 am

  • Homers in loss
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Garcia is starting to come around at the plate, going 4-for-17 (.235) over his last four contests following a five-game slump. The third baseman has already matched his homer total from last season (four), which took him 123 games to accumulate in 2023. He's added four steals, 15 RBI, 10 runs scored and a .178/.224/.367 slash line over 98 plate appearances so far, but he remains intriguing in fantasy for his speed. Rotowire.com Today, 9:57 am
