    • Wins with shaky outing
Severino (3-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Arizona.

Advice: Severino got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He gave up one more over the next four frames before Eugenio Suarez knocked him out of the game with a solo shot in the sixth inning. Severino still earned his first win since April 17 in the chaotic 10-9 contest. He ends May with a subpar 4.91 ERA and 23:16 K:BB through 29 frames. Severino will carry a 3.52 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to be in Washington. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 am
    • Pitches well versus Giants
Stroman (5-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 7.1 innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively projected to be at home versus the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm
    • Marcus Stroman pitches into eighth in victory
Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not. He now owns a 2.76 ERA in his first season as a New York Yankee, and he’ll have a chance to lower that solid number further against the Twins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm
    • MJ Melendez goes 0-for-4 in loss to Padres
MJ Melendez finished 0-for-4 while his teammates were combining to score eight runs Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Melendez will likely turn this around if the Royals stick with him long enough, but at this point, sending him down for 2-3 weeks would make sense. He’s sitting at .172/.233/.337 for the season. Drew Waters wouldn’t necessarily be a better bet, but at least he’d improve the defense in left if given a shot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm

    • Three hits in return
Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Kwan returned from the injured list after missing nearly the entire month of May but showed no signs of rust. He singled three times, including an RBI knock in the eighth inning. He's produced five multi-hit performances in his last eight appearances. Kwan owns a strong .365/.420/.504 slash line with 30 runs scored and a 12:12 BB:K through 150 plate appearances. • Luis Severino allows five runs, wins
Luis Severino pitched 5 ⅓ innings on Friday against the Diamondbacks and four earned runs with four strikeouts and one walk in a win.

Advice: Seeing the win is nice, but Severino wasn’t his best on Friday. His velocity was down a tick across the board as the Diamondbacks made plenty of hard contact. Yet, Severino didn’t allow an extra-base hit until the Eugenio Suárez home run that chased him from the game. Keep an eye on whether or not that velocity levels out in his next start. • Tanner Houck dominates in victory over Tigers
Tanner Houck delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits over seven stellar innings.

Advice: The 27-year-old hurler racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Gio Urshela in the opening inning. After that, the Tigers never really threatened against him. Houck got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 32 percent. Now 5-5 on the season, he’ll carry an impressive 1.85 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 75/15 K/BB ratio (78 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm

    • Steven Kwan goes 3-for-4 in return
Steven Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk in a win over the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Kwan didn’t miss a beat after spending nearly four weeks on the IL with a hamstring strain. He was slashing the ball all over the yard and in the middle of multiple Guardians’ rallies. His batting average is up to an astounding .365. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:38 pm

    • Expects to be back when eligible
O'Neill (knee) said Friday that he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill was given a cortisone injection to combat inflammation in his right knee and said the shot has helped a lot. It would appear he's likely to skip a rehab assignment and return when his 10 days are up. O'Neill has just a .545 OPS and 43.9 percent strikeout in May after collecting a 1.127 OPS and 24.4 percent strikeout rate in April. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm
