  • Pederson suffered neck strain in OF collision
Joc Pederson was diagnosed with a neck strain following Tuesday night's outfield collision with Yasiel Puig.

Advice: Pederson also suffered some minor cuts on his forehead when he stumbled head-first into the right-center field wall, but he cleared MLB's concussion protocol and is expected to avoid the disabled list. That's excellent news given the violence of the collision. Pederson and Puig were both laughing in the clubhouse after the Dodgers' 13th-inning walkoff win over the Cardinals. 52 minutes ago

  • Jose Reyes (ribs) goes 1-for-5 in return Tues
Jose Reyes (ribs) went 1-for-5 with a run scored in his return to the Mets' lineup Tuesday.

Advice: Reyes was scratched from Sunday's series finale against the Angels due to tightness on the left side of his rib cage. It apparently wasn't anything serious. Today, 5:43 am
  • Logan Forsythe atones in 13th inning
Logan Forsythe (foot) posted a game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the 13th inning in Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Forsythe was hitless in four at-bats with a walk and four strikeouts before providing the heroics in extras. It was his first game since April 18 due to a fracture in his right big toe. Forsythe will continue to fill in at the hot corner until Justin Turner (hamstring) is ready to return, then he'll move back to his usual spot at second base. Today, 1:04 am
  • Clayton Kershaw punches out 10 in no-decision
Clayton Kershaw allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts across nine innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Kershaw had it going on again, but he was matched by Lance Lynn in a pitcher's duel eventually decided in the 13th inning. It was the first time in 10 starts this season that Kershaw hasn't factored into the decision. He has rolled up seven innings or more in four consecutive starts and seven of the past eight. Today, 12:59 am
  • Skid continues for Dexter Fowler
Dexter Fowler was hitless in five at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Tuesday's game at the L.A. Dodgers.

Advice: Fowler is hitless over his past 15 at-bats with five strikeouts to drop his average from .238 to .212 just since May 19. He'll look to snap his skid against left-hander Rich Hill and the Dodgers on Wednesday. Today, 12:54 am
  • Jed Lowrie comes across to score three times
Jed Lowrie finished 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's against Miami.

Advice: Lowrie has hit safely in five consecutive games, posting nine hits over 21 at-bats (.429) with six runs scored, two doubles, two hits and four RBI. He is slashing .283/.355/.464 as he continues to trend upward again after slumping hard in mid-May. Today, 12:15 am
  • Ryon Healy drives in three runs on Tuesday
Ryon Healy finished 2-for-5 with his eighth home run of the season and three RBI in Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Healy is slashing .260/.294/.450, as he continues to increase his production. He posted an impressive .305 average with 20 homers, 13 homers and 37 RBI across 269 at-bats last season, so he has a ways to go before getting back to those levels. Still, his power potential makes him an intriguing play in most AL-only fantasy formats. Today, 12:09 am
    12:35 pm vs Mia
  • Justin Bour records four hits in road win
Justin Bour finished 4-for-5 with a double, solo home run, four runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's win in Oakland.

Advice: Bour has hit safely in a season-high six consecutive games, raising his average to his highest mark of the season at .280. He has also driven in at least one run in five straight outings to make him a must-start in deeper mixed leagues while also serving as a mid-tier value in DFS play. Today, 12:02 am
  • Dee Gordon posts three hits in Tuesday's win
Dee Gordon finished 3-for-6 with a triple, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 11-9 win in Oakland.

Advice: Gordon has been a streaky hitter this season, and lately he is riding an impressive wave. He has four consecutive multi-hit games, collecting nine hits across 18 at-bats over the past four outings. He has raised his average from .245 to .271 just since May 18 as a result of the hot run. Yesterday, 11:54 pm
  • Jose Urena shaky in Tuesday's road win
Jose Urena allowed six earned runs, four hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings in a win Tuesday in Oakland.

Advice: Urena was staked to a 7-1 lead through three innings and he did his best to fritter away the huge cushion. Manager Don Mattingly let him stick around long enough to qualify for the win, but the real heroes in the game were on the Miami offense. Six Marlins recorded two or more hits. Yesterday, 11:51 pm
  • Jake Lamb continues to provide souvenirs
Jake Lamb finished 1-for-4 with his 12th home run and a pair of RBI in Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Lamb blasted five homers with 21 RBI in the month of April and he has cracked seven home runs with 17 RBI through 19 games in May. He posted 29 clouts with 91 RBI in 523 at-bats across 151 games last season and he is proving this year that was no fluke. Over the past two seasons Lamb has emerged as an outstanding power source across the board in all fantasy formats. Yesterday, 11:11 pm
  • Yelich day-to-day with right hip flexor issue
Christian Yelich exited Tuesday's game versus the Athletics with a right hip flexor injury.

Advice: It's unclear when Yelich suffered the injury, and it seems like he was lifted for precautionary reasons. The Marlins are listing him as day-to-day. Yelich had a single and scored a run in five plate appearances Tuesday before departing. Yesterday, 11:10 pm
  • Chris Herrmann launches fifth homer
Chris Herrmann finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Herrmann has homered in three consecutive starts, posting four RBI during the span. While Jeff Mathis is superior defensively, Herrmann's bat is coming alive and he is making it hard for skipper Torey Lovullo to keep the backstop on the bench. He remains a No. 2 fantasy option in NL-only leagues with some power upside. Yesterday, 11:07 pm
  • Tony Watson blows save versus Braves
Tony Watson blew his second save of the season Tuesday in Atlanta.

Advice: Ender Inciarte reached on a one-out infield single and the scored the game-tying run on a Nick Markakis double. After an intentional walk to Matt Kemp, Matt Adams slashed a walk-off RBI single. Watson has been pretty shaky so far in May, allowing seven runs over nine appearances. Yesterday, 11:05 pm
  • Fernando Rodney posts his 11th save
Fernando Rodney worked a perfect ninth inning in Tuesday's game against the White Sox for his 11th save of the season.

Advice: Rodney worked a tidy 12-pitch frame for his seventh consecutive clean appearance of May. After a rough April with a 12.60 ERA and two blown saves he appears to have ironed out his issues and is a perfect 5-for-5 on save chances in May. Yesterday, 11:03 pm
  • Pederson leaves game after outfield collision
Joc Pederson left Tuesday's game in the Cardinals after an outfield collision with Yasiel Puig.

Advice: Pederson took an elbow to the face from Puig before crashing head-first into the outfield wall. Both players were running full-speed on a liner to right-center that Puig actually managed to haul in. Pederson laid sprawled on the ground in obvious pain for a couple of minutes before eventually walking off slowly alongside team trainers. Enrique Hernandez took over in center field. • LAD activate 2B/3B Logan Forsythe from DL
Dodgers activated 2B/3B Logan Forsythe from the 10-day disabled list.

Advice: Forsythe will return as the Dodgers' fill-in third baseman on Tuesday night against the Cardinals with Justin Turner nursing a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He'll also bat leadoff. Chris Taylor and Chase Utley will continue to platoon at second base. Forsythe was batting .295/.407/.341 in 54 plate appearances with Los Angeles before landing on the disabled list April 19 with a fracture in his right big toe. He should be activated immediately in fantasy leagues. Yesterday, 2:07 pm
  • Jake Lamb fans twice as D-Backs fall to SDP
Jake Lamb went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Advice: Lamb was not alone in his struggles on Sunday, as the Diamondbacks finished with just five hits on the afternoon. Only one of those (a Chris Iannetta solo homer) went for extra bases. Sunday's dire results aside, Lamb has been red hot of late, having picked up five multi-hit games in his last 10 contests. He had a stretch earlier this week in which he connected for four home runs in three games. Sunday, 5:05 pm
  • Pederson cranks solo home run in win over MIA
Joc Pederson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Marlins.

Advice: Pederson took Vance Worley deep for a solo shot to lead off the fourth inning. After swatting 26 and 25 long balls in 2015 and 2016, respectively, Pederson has struggled with the power stroke this season. Sunday's homer was just his second of the year and he currently owns a cringe-worthy .324 slugging percentage. Sunday, 4:30 pm
    7:10 pm vs StL
  • Justin Bour socks late homer in loss to LAD
Justin Bour went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Bour hit a leadoff home run against Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning to draw the Marlins to within 6-3. While that kept matters at least vaguely interesting, Bour's squad was unable to creep any closer, as that score held as the final. The 27-year-old first baseman is as locked in as any hitter in the game right now, having swatted six home runs in his last 10 games. He has cracked 11 homers and driven in 28 runs for the season as a whole. Sunday, 4:27 pm
  • Dee Gordon notches double in loss to Dodgers
Dee Gordon went 2-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: The double was Gordon's sixth of the season. He also picked up a single, but struck out in his other two at-bats. The speedy second baseman has now turned in multi-hit performances in each of his last three games, but is hitting just .263/.319/.322 overall. While he does have 13 steals, at this juncture, base thefts are just about all he has going for him. Sunday, 4:22 pm
  • Tony Watson tallies 10th save on Sunday
Tony Watson tallied his 10th save of the year Sunday in the Pirates' 1-0 defeat of the Phillies.

Advice: Watson picked up a strikeout in an easy 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning to keep the Bucs' combined shutout intact. The left-hander has a 2.75 ERA and 14/7 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 innings this season as Pittsburgh's closer. Sunday, 3:11 pm
  • Jose Reyes scratched with tight ribcage
Jose Reyes has been scratched from the Mets' lineup Sunday due to a tight left ribcage.

Advice: Reyes said he wanted to play and thinks he'll be ready to go Tuesday. Matt Reynolds has replaced Reyes at shortstop. Sunday, 8:27 am
  • Chris Herrmann belts fourth homer
Chris Herrmann finished 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's game in San Diego.

Advice: Herrmann has back-to-back games with a pair of hits and a home run, showing some signs of life at a position which has been a bugaboo for the Diamondbacks. He finally inched his batting average back over the Mendoza line for the first time since May 2. He remains a No. 2 receiver option in deeper NL-only fantasy leagues, but he could change that outlook if he continues to stay hot. Sunday, 1:35 am
  • Jose Reyes posts three-hit game
Jose Reyes finished 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Reyes reached 2,000 hits for his career in the game. He has shown signs of life at the plate lately, posting three multi-hit games in the past six outings to raise his average from .180 to .203 since May 13. The 33-year-old is slashing .205/.282/.329 which isn't very good, obviously. However, he is trending upward and is still worth using in most NL seasonal leagues. Saturday, 9:46 pm
  • Lowrie goes 3-for-5 with a home run on Sat.
Jed Lowrie went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two runs scored in a win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: The homer came off reliever Noe Ramirez in the sixth inning. It was one of four longballs on the day for the Athletics against Red Sox pitching. Lowrie is wielding a surprisingly potent bat this season, batting .278/.350/.456 with six homers, 25 runs scored and 12 RBI through 42 games. Saturday, 5:24 pm
  • Watson pitches clean ninth for a save Sat.
Tony Watson tossed a clean ninth inning to earn a save against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: He was protecting a three-run lead while facing the bottom of the Phillies' lineup and he set them down in order. He carries a 2.89 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. He has two wins, no losses, nine saves and one blown save. Saturday, 4:37 pm
  • Jake Lamb homers twice in Arizona's win
Jake Lamb hit two homers and drove in five runs in the Diamondbacks' 10-1 rout of the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Lamb homered off Jered Weaver in the first and a tired Craig Stammen in the sixth. He has four homers in his last three games, pushing his season total up to 11. He had been in a slump over the second half of April and the first half of May, but that's over now. Friday, 11:23 pm
  • Dexter Fowler homers, triples
Dexter Fowler had a three-run homer, a triple and a walk against the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Fowler has homered in back-to-back games, giving him six homers this season. His current .238 average is the highest he's been since the second game of the year. Friday, 10:53 pm
  • Forsythe will handle third base upon return
Dodgers' skipper Dave Roberts said Friday that Logan Forsythe will play at third base when he returns from the disabled list on Tuesday.

Advice: With Justin Turner on the shelf for a few weeks, they'll roll with Forsythe at third and continue to platoon Chris Taylor and Chase Utley at second base. Forsythe has played in just 14 games for the Dodgers this season, slashing .295/.407/.341 with no homers and three RBI. Friday, 4:27 pm
  • Lowrie hits two-run homer, A's beat BOS
Jed Lowrie went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Lowrie struck for a two-run shot against Hector Velazquez in the first inning, his fifth home run of the season. In addition to that quintet of dingers, he owns a .268/.345/.436 triple-slash and has driven in 11 runs across 40 games played. Thursday, 11:00 pm
  • Justin Bour styles solo homer in loss to LAD
Justin Bour went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Bour clobbered a solo home run off Hyun-Jin Ryu with two outs in the second inning. The dinger was his ninth of the season. He has been on a power tear of late, crushing five home runs in his last eight games while working to a .265/.359/.508 triple-slash for the season as a whole. Thursday, 10:43 pm
  • Marlins fall despite solo homer by Yelich
Christian Yelich went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Yelich uncoiled for a solo home run off Hyun-Jin Ryu in the third inning. He is working to a pedestrian .273/.327/.409 triple-slash through 154 at-bats, though his counting stats (six homers, 21 RBI, 27 runs scored) are respectable enough. Thursday, 10:42 pm
  • Forsythe (foot) to return Sunday or Tuesday
The Dodgers will activate Logan Forsythe (foot) from the 10-day disabled list on Sunday or Tuesday.

Advice: Forsythe is nearing the end of his rehab assignment with High-A Rancho Cucamonga and is set to join the Dodgers early next week. Sunday might be pushing it, but Forsythe should be back Tuesday at the latest. Forsythe has missed the past month while battling toe and hamstring injuries. Chris Taylor and Chase Utley have split time at second base during his absence. Thursday, 5:17 pm
  • Forsythe (foot) goes 1-for-2 in rehab game
Logan Forsythe (foot) finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in his second rehab game Wednesday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: Forsythe played second base for several innings in this one after serving as Rancho Cucamonga's designated hitter in his rehab debut on Tuesday night. Forsythe remains on track to return to the Dodgers' active roster sometime next week. He's been out since April 19 with a fractured right big toe and a tweaked hamstring. Thursday, 6:58 am
  • Dexter Fowler hits fifth homer
Dexter Fowler had a leadoff homer and a pair of walks Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Fowler is hitting just .229, but he does have five homers and 18 walks in 34 games. He's not striking out any more than usual, so one imagines that average will come up some. Wednesday, 9:44 pm
  • Herrmann sinks Mets with solo homer in 11th
Chris Herrmann socked a walk-off solo home run in the 11th inning of Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Mets.

Advice: Facing off with Rafael Montero to lead off the bottom of the 11th inning, Herrmann connected for a long, no-doubt solo bomb to center field to send the fans home happy. Earlier in the game he also doubled and drew a walk. The 29-year-old backstop is hitting just .185/.279/.370 in 30 games this season and offers no fantasy upside, but will have at least one heroic moment to look back on come the end of the 2017 season. Wednesday, 4:33 pm
  • Jake Lamb cranks two-run homer in victory
Jake Lamb went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 11-inning win over the Mets.

Advice: Lamb cracked a two-run homer off Matt Harvey with one out in the third inning. The dinger was his ninth of the season and boosted his RBI total to 29. He has now homered in back-to-back games and picked up hits in six of his last 12 at-bats. For the season as a whole, Lamb owns a .283/.375/.524 triple-slash over the course of 38 games played. Wednesday, 4:27 pm
  • Kershaw blanks Giants over seven innings
Clayton Kershaw tossed seven innings of three-hit, shutout ball in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Giants.

Advice: Kershaw was on his game from the start and did not allow a hit until Justin Ruggiano finally picked up a single with one out in the fourth inning. He did not walk a batter in the contest and struck out five in what was a crisp, effective outing against the rival Giants. The ace southpaw needed just 89 pitches to complete his seven innings of work. For the season as a whole, he is pitching to a typically masterful 2.15 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 62/8 K/BB ratio across nine starts. A home showdown with the Cardinals shows next on his schedule. Wednesday, 3:25 pm
  • Gordon swipes 12th base in loss on Wed.
Dee Gordon stole his 12th base of the season in Wednesday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: Gordon reached on a forceout in the bottom of the fifth inning and swiped third base after making it to second on a balk. He officially went 0-for-3 at the plate in the afternoon loss to Houston, though the speedster also reached base on a hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the first. Wednesday, 12:15 pm
  • Urena takes loss Wednesday vs. Astros
Jose Urena allowed three runs -- one earned -- over 5 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Urena didn't pitch terribly and was victimized by some shaky defense, though Lance McCullers thoroughly out-dueled him in this one. Urena struck out three, walked two, and gave up six hits. He boasts a 1.91 ERA in 33 total innings this season but a record of 1-2. Wednesday, 12:10 pm
  • Forsythe (foot) goes 0-for-4 in rehab game
Logan Forsythe (foot) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a rehab game Tuesday with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: Forsythe served as the Quakes' designated hitter and will probably continue to DH for a couple more games before trying second base. He was initially placed on the disabled list April 19 with a fractured right big toe and then he suffered a tweaked hamstring on his first attempt at a minor league rehab assignment in early May. If he can avoid further setbacks, Forsythe should be ready to return to the Dodgers' active roster late next week. Wednesday, 6:09 am
  • Ryan Healy rocks home run No. 7 in victory
Ryon Healy went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Mariners.

Advice: Healy connected on a Chase De Jong pitch for a no-doubt two-run shot in the second inning, one which traveled an estimated 443 feet. It was his seventh home run of the campaign. Three of those seven home runs have come in his last 10 games. Not all was golden in this one, though, as Healy committed a costly error in the seventh inning, one which opened the door for the Mariners to tie matters up at 4-4. A five-run ninth inning by the A's would ultimately make that error something of a moot point. Tuesday, 10:49 pm
    12:35 pm vs Mia
  • Fernando Rodney converts save No. 10
Fernando Rodney tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning to notch his 10th save in Tuesday's win over the Mets.

Advice: Of Rodney's 10 saves this season, half of them have been of the 1-2-3 variety. The closer hasn't given up a hit in five appearances yet this month, converting all three of his save opportunities. Tuesday, 9:48 pm
  • Christian Yelich strikes out in all three PAs
Christian Yelich struck out in all three of his plate appearances Tuesday against the Astros.

Advice: He's struck out five times in the last two games. Yelich has hardly been the reason for the Marlins' struggles, but he's been a relative disappointment so far, as well, with a .279/.331/.401 batting line. Tuesday, 7:17 pm
  • Fowler (shoulder) in Cardinals lineup Tuesday
Dexter Fowler (shoulder) is starting in center field and batting leadoff on Tuesday night.

Advice: Fowler has been bothered by right shoulder discomfort for much of May, but he's apparently beginning to turn the corner with the injury. Magneuris Sierra is on the bench Tuesday night against the Red Sox. Tommy Pham is in left field and Randal Grichuk is in right. Tuesday, 1:02 pm
  • Bour not in Tuesday's lineup
Justin Bour is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Astros.

Advice: Bour has been on a tear at the plate recently, but he'll take a seat against lefty Dallas Keuchel. Tyler Moore will make the start at first base. Mike Aviles will start in place of Derek Dietrch at third. Tuesday, 11:37 am
  • Lamb goes 2-for-3, hits eighth home run
Jake Lamb went 2-for-3 with a homer in the Diamondbacks' defeat of the Mets on Monday.

Advice: Lamb slugged a game-tying solo shot off Mets starter Zack Wheeler in the bottom of the sixth inning and he scored his second run of the game after drawing an intentional walk in the Diamondbacks' six-run bottom of the eighth. The third baseman is slashing .282/.368/.507 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 37 games this season. Monday, 9:54 pm
  • Bour homers again Monday in loss to HOU
Justin Bour went 3-for-4 with a solo homer Monday in the Marlins' loss to the Astros.

Advice: Bour doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, and went deep off Astros reliever Luke Gregerson in the bottom of the eighth. The first baseman has four home runs over his last five games and his OPS is up to .835. Monday, 7:13 pm
  • Jake Lamb doubles on three-hit afternoon
Jake Lamb went 3-for-6 with a double in Sunday's 10-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Nice afternoon for Lamb, but it could have been a heroic one. With the Diamondbacks trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the 10th inning, he grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game. This was Lamb's second three-hit showing in his last three games. His strong recent work has boosted his season-long triple-slash to .273/.358/.482. In addition, he has hit seven home runs and driven in 26. May 14, 5:25 pm
  • Dexter Fowler still nursing sore shoulder
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said Sunday that Dexter Fowler's right shoulder is "still not quite right."

Advice: It's why Fowler is sitting out Sunday after returning to the lineup the last two days. The shoulder only bothers Fowler while throwing, so he'll be available to pinch-hit. Matheny indicated that Fowler would likely be back in the lineup Tuesday following Monday's off day. Mags Sierra is in center field Sunday. May 14, 10:49 am
  • Dexter Fowler sitting out on Sunday
Dexter Fowler is absent from the Cardinals' lineup Sunday.

Advice: Fowler has played the last two days after missing a week's worth of starts with a sore right shoulder, but this just appears to be a day off. Mags Sierra is in center field. May 14, 8:31 am
  • Dee Gordon moves back into leadoff spot
Dee Gordon is back in the Marlins' leadoff spot for Sunday's game versus the Braves.

Advice: Gordon was demoted to the No. 9 spot for four games, but he's back in the leadoff spot even though he had just three hits in 14 at-bats over that stretch. The Marlins also have A.J. Ellis catching as J.T. Realmuto gets a breather. Manager Don Mattingly's club has lost 14 of its last 17 games. May 14, 8:07 am
