    • Nabs fifth steal
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Goldschmidt's midseason resurgence has continued into July -- he's opened the month with a pair of multi-hit efforts. He's batting .262 with six extra-base hits and two steals over his last 15 contests. The first baseman is at a .230/.297/.368 slash line with 11 home runs, five steals, 12 doubles, 33 RBI and 40 runs scored through 82 games overall, though his recent play is an encouraging sign for the second half. • Scratched from lineup
Bichette was scratched from the Blue Jays' lineup Thursday with a right forearm contusion, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bichette was hit by a pitch in the area during Wednesday's game versus the Astros and felt some residual soreness while working out pregame Thursday. Consider him day-to-day. Leo Jimenez will slide over to shortstop and Spencer Horwitz will enter the lineup at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 9:11 am

    • Allows four runs in loss
Gilbert (5-5) took the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out six.

Advice: Three of the four runs charged to Gilbert came across in the third inning when he walked two of the first four batters he faced before surrendering three consecutive hits with two outs in the frame. The right-hander would then give up a solo shot to Ryan O'Hearn in the fifth, marking the first time he's given up four or more runs in his last six outings. Gilbert had gone at least six innings in nine consecutive starts coming into Wednesday's loss while the three walks were the most he's allowed since May 14 against the Royals (span of nine starts). • Starts at first base
Candelario started at first base and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Yankees.

Advice: This was Candelario's first start in the field since returning from a hamstring injury. He'd served as the designated hitter the previous two games. As a result of him playing first base, Spencer Steer moved to left field for the day. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 am

    • Fans eight in loss
Rodon allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings in a loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday.

Advice: Though he logged his fourth straight defeat, this was a bounce-back effort of sorts for Rodon after he surrendered 21 runs (20 earned) over 13.2 innings across his previous three starts. The veteran hurler did, however, continue to struggle with the long ball Wednesday, yielding multiple homers for the third straight outing. Rodon has given up seven home runs during that three-game stretch, and his 18 homers allowed on the campaign is tied for third-most in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 12:23 am

    • Logan Gilbert gives up four runs in loss
Logan Gilbert allowed four runs with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Gilbert worked through two quiet innings against the Orioles before things unraveled a bit in the third. He walked two batters to put a pair of runners on for Ryan O’Hearn, who doubled to put the Orioles on the board with two runs. Ryan Mountcastle singled to make it a three run game before Gilbert struck out the final batter to escape the frame. He surrendered one more run on a solo homer by O’Hearn in the fifth and recorded one out in the sixth before his day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 2.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 108/24 K/BB ratio across 117 2/3 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. • Christian Yelich homers in win over Rockies
Christian Yelich went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk to power the Brewers to a 3-0 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Yelich put the Brewers on the board early with a solo homer off Dakota Hudson in the first inning. He added a double in the third, then drew a walk in the fifth. The 32-year-old outfielder is in the middle of his best season since 2019, slashing .333/.408/.519 with nine homers, 37 runs scored, 37 RBI, and 19 steals across 263 plate appearances. • Carlos Rodón fans eight, allows two homers in loss
Carlos Rodón struck out eight and allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Rodón struggled once again to keep the ball in the yard, serving up a two-run homer to Noelvi Marte in the second inning before coughing up a solo shot to Stuart Fairchild a couple frames later. He kept Cincinnati’s lineup in check otherwise, allowing just one additional hit and three walks. The most encouraging development here from a fantasy standpoint was that he piled up an eye-popping 15 swinging strikes, and finished with a 33 percent CSW, despite some diminished velocity across the board. There’s still some work to be done here, but Rodón didn’t look completely cooked in this one, which qualifies as an encouraging development. He’ll square off against the division-rival Rays on Tuesday in his next outing, Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:07 pm

    • Aaron Judge tops vote getters in American League
Aaron Judge led all vote getters in Phase 1 of voting for the All-Star Game and was named to his sixth American League All-Star squad on Wednesday.

Advice: It’s the fourth straight year that Judge will represent the American League in the Mid-Summer Classic. Here’s who will join him in the starting lineup for the American League All-Stars (with their number of times making the All-Star team and starting in the game in parentheses): 1B: Vladimir Guerrero (4 - 3x starter), 2B: Jose Altuve (9, 6x starter), SS: Gunnar Henderson (1 - 1x starter), 3B; Jose Ramirez (6 - 3x starter), C: Adley Rutschman (2 - 1x starter), OF: Aaron Judge (6 - 6x starter), Juan Soto (4 - 1x starter), Steven Kwan (1- 1x starter) and DH: Yordan Alvarez (3 - 1x starter).
