      Paul Sewald suffered his first blown save of the season on Tuesday night, allowing two runs on three hits over 2/3 innings against the Dodgers.

      Advice: The 34-year-old stopper was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning. He started off the inning by striking out Gavin Lux and Shohei Ohtani, but things got interesting as Will Smith smacked a two-out double on the first pitch that he saw, putting the tying run in scoring position. Freddie Freeman then fell behind 0-2 before lining a game-tying RBI double into right field. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a walk-off RBI single that ended it.       Evan Phillips earned his first victory of the 2024 season on Tuesday despite allowing a solo homer in the ninth inning against the Diamondbacks,

      Advice: Phillips came on to work with the score tied at four runs apiece heading to the ninth inning. He struck out Ketel Marte to start the frame but then served up a go-ahead solo homer to Joc Pederson before retiring the next to hitters. He was then the beneficiary of a vultured win after the Dodgers rallied for two runs in the home half of the ninth.       Phillips (1-0) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over one inning but earned the win Tuesday over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Phillips gave up a tie-breaking solo home run to Joc Pederson in the top of the ninth inning, but the Dodgers replied with two runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. The homer was just the second Phillips has allowed all year, though this was the second outing in a row he's been scored on. He only threw 23 pitches June 26 as the game was suspended for weather but has now logged quality starts in his past four official contests.
