    • Resting against southpaw
Conforto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: With southpaw James Paxton toeing the slab for the Dodgers, the lefty-hitting Conforto will be given the afternoon off. Luis Matos will fill in for Conforto in left field. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
    • DFA'd by San Francisco
The Giants designated Howard for assignment Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered six runs over 2.2 innings Saturday against the Dodgers and has now lost his place on the Giants' 26-man active roster and 40-man roster. Howard has struggled to a 5.63 ERA and 21:11 K:BB over 24 frames in the big leagues this season. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Hitting streak over at 25
Reynolds went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Sunday's 4-2 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Reynolds didn't get the ball out of the infield on Sunday with a pair of groundouts to go with two strikeouts. His 25-game hitting streak is the longest in MLB this season and the fifth longest by a Pirates player since 1900. He entered June with a .249/.320/.402 slash line and finishes at .274/.341/.466. The 29-year-old has 13 homers, 46 RBI and five stolen bases for the season. Rotowire.com Today, 11:42 am

    • Joe Kelly (shoulder) won’t return before break
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Sunday that Joe Kelly (shoulder) won’t be ready to return before the All-Star break.

Advice: Kelly will need a rehab assignment before returning, and the right-hander will not be able to complete that assignment before the break. The 36-year-old has been on the injured list since May 6 because of his shoulder trouble, and he’ll likely pitch in the middle-innings once he’s activated off the 60-day IL. • Promoted, should pitch Sunday
Roupp (undisclosed) was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old was on the injured list at Triple-A Sacramento with an unspecified injury, but he'll join the Giants after making three rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Roupp has a 5.27 ERA and 12:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings for San Francisco this season. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Roupp is expected to cover about three innings behind opening pitcher Spencer Bivens against the Dodgers on Sunday. • Getting day off
Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Advice: For the first time since Mookie Betts landed on the 10-day injured list June 17 with a fractured wrist, Rojas will head to the bench. While taking over as the Dodgers' everyday shortstop over the past two weeks, Rojas slashed a robust .350/.386/.450 with four extra-base hits (all doubles) over a stretch of 11 starts. Enrique Hernandez will occupy shortstop Sunday in Rojas' stead. Rotowire.com Today, 11:27 am

    • Falls apart in fifth
Schwellenbach (1-4) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates, giving up four runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Advice: Schwellenbach cruised through four innings before running into a buzzsaw in the fifth, courtesy of two-run homers by O'Neil Cruz and Rowdy Tellez. He had a similar issue in his last start against the Cardinals, giving up all four of his runs in the third inning. The rookie right-hander has now given up at least four runs in half of his six career starts and has seen his ERA jump to 5.68. He's scheduled for a tough test next against the Phillies on Saturday.  Rotowire.com Today, 11:26 am
    • Exiting starting nine Sunday
Biggio is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Biggio will head to the bench after he started at third base over the first two games of the series, going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts. Chris Taylor will step in at third base in place of Biggio, who is slashing just .167/.265/.167 with a 35.3 percent strikeout rate since being acquired from the Blue Jays on June 12. • Tellez swats two-run homer in win over Atlanta
Rowdy Tellez hit a two-run homer to help the Pirates to a win over Atlanta on Sunday.

Advice: Tellez doubled the Pittsburgh lead with a two-run homer off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old has gone deep just four times in his 196 at-bats in 2024, and his slash of .230/.286/.322 doesn’t offer much fantasy relevance from the first base position. Rotoworld Today, 11:11 am
