  • Xander Bogaerts hits ninth homer
Xander Bogaerts homered and walked three times against the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: The homer, his first since Aug. 25 and just his ninth of the season, came off Donnie Hart and tied the game in the seventh. The Red Sox badly need more offense from him right now, particularly if Mookie Betts' thumb is going to remain an issue. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:42 pm
  • Sean Rodriguez goes 0-for-3 in loss
Sean Rodriguez went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The Pirates are playing Rodriguez quite a bit, even though he's yet to show anything to suggest he's capable of helping this year. He's 12-for-74 with 29 strikeouts since coming over from the Braves. Of course, he was originally expected to miss the entire season after suffering multiple injuries in a car accident, so it's impressive that he's playing at all. He's not helping, though. • Chris Taylor goes 2-for-3, homers
Chris Taylor went 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park homer and a walk Monday in the loss to the Phillies.

Advice: The leadoff inside-the-parker made Taylor the 2,841st player to reach 20 home runs so far this season. Taylor had struggled some of late, going 0-for-15 in his previous four games. He's batting .202 with nine runs scored and a 26/5 K/BB ratio in 94 plate appearances since August 25. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:09 pm

  • Roberts on Seager (elbow): 'He's not 100%'
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts admitted Monday that Corey Seager's right elbow is "not 100 percent," but the shortstop is trying to "manage it."

Advice: Roberts added that he's been told by the team's medical staff that Seager's injury "is playable." The skipper still wouldn't reveal exactly what the nature of Seager's injury is, although there's been speculation that he's dealing with a bone spur or bone chips. He'll probably have surgery in the offseason but will have to play through some pain down the stretch. It seems like something that only affects Seager when he throws, so his hitting shouldn't be an issue. Seager is not starting Monday in what Roberts says will be the shortstop's final day off of the season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:32 pm
  • Amed Rosario scratched due to illness
Amed Rosario was scratched from the Mets' lineup Monday due to an upset stomach.

Advice: He should be fine in a day or two. Jose Reyes will move over to shortstop, and Gavin Cecchini has entered the lineup at second base. Rosario is hitting .265/.292/.417 with four homers and seven steals since his promotion last month. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:29 pm

Eduardo Nunez (knee) plans to run the bases Wednesday and do more tests Friday before hopefully returning to the Red Sox' lineup.

Advice: Nunez hasn't played since September 9 due to a nagging knee injury. He's filled a super utility role since joining the Red Sox and the club will probably be careful with his playing time down the stretch as they prepare for the postseason even if he's cleared to return this weekend. Thus, fantasy owners shouldn't be expecting much. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 1:11 pm

Pirates prospect shortstop Cole Tucker suffered a minor fracture of the third metatarsal in his left hand.

Advice: Tucker suffered the injury when his hand was stepped on with a head-first slide into second base. Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said the training staff is optimistic that he'll still be able to participate in the upcoming Arizona Fall League. Tucker, 21, batted .275/.358/.408 with six homers and 47 steals over 110 games between High-A and Double-A this season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:56 am

  • Red Sox hope to retain Eduardo Nunez
Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports that the Red Sox plan to explore a new contract with impending free agent Eduardo Nunez.

Advice: While Nunez is currently sidelined with a knee injury, he has been great since coming over from the Giants, batting .319/.351/.534 with eight homers, 27 RBI, and six steals over 37 games. He'd presumably fill a utility role if he returns, so he could find a more attractive situation elsewhere. Of course, he could be willing to accept a utility role if the price is right. • Trevor Story plates two in loss to Padres
Trevor Story went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI as the Rockies fell to the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: Story delivered a two-run double that capped off a three-run fourth inning to give the Rockies an early lead. That would wind up being their only offense in the game however. With the two-hit attack, Story is hitting .235/.307/.447 with 21 homers and 72 RBI. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:42 pm
  • Beckham blasts 22nd homer of season
Tim Beckham hit a big three-run homer in Baltimore's victory over the Yankees on Sunday.

Advice: Beckham has slowed down since his white-hot start to his Orioles' career, but he's still a productive hitter at the top of the lineup. The homer was the 23rd of his season; a three-run shot to give the Orioles a 5-1 lead in the fourth innings. For the year, Beckham has a very strong .280/.330/.481 line on the year. • Correa hits two-run homer Sunday vs. M's
Carlos Correa hit a two-run homer in the Astros' win over the Mariners on Sunday.

Advice: It was his first home run since he returned from a torn thumb ligament on September 3. That injury can sometimes have lasting effects on a hitter's power stroke. Correa is up to 21 homers and 71 RBI in 98 total games this season and he's sporting an excellent .304/.379/.528 overall batting line. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:12 pm
  • Anderson breaks up no-hitter with double
Tim Anderson went 1-for-4 with a double in a 12-0 loss to the Tigers on Sunday.

Advice: Anderson had just one hit, but it was a notable one, as it broke up Detroit hurler Matt Boyd's no-hitter with two outs in the ninth. He's been much better in the second half, and now has his line up to .262/.281/.414 on the 2017 campaign. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 1:17 pm

  • Anderson steals two bases, scores two runs
Tim Anderson stayed hot Saturday against the Tigers by going 4-for-5 with two steals and two runs scored.

Advice: Anderson had three singles and a double. He’s batting .473 (26-for-55) over his last 12 games and has swiped seven bases in that time. Anderson stole only six bases over his previous 121 games this season. His speed isn’t in question, but it's about time he started taking advantage of it. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:55 pm

  • Xander Bogaerts goes 4-for-7
Xander Bogaerts went 4-for-7 with a walk and two RBI against the Rays on Friday.

  • Correa goes 2-for-4 with a run and RBI Friday
Carlos Correa went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a win over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: He drove in Jose Altuve with a double in the first inning, then came around to score on an Evan Gattis single to center. Correa got picked off first base by catcher Mike Zunino later in the ballgame. The young shortstop, who turns 23 years old next week, is already one of the best hitters in the league. • Cozart belts two solo home runs vs Pirates
Zack Cozart slugged a pair of solo home runs to lead his team to a 4-2 victory over the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: He victimized starter Chad Kuhl twice in the contest. It was his third multi-homer game of the season despite missing about five weeks' worth of games with various maladies this year. He is having by far the best season of his career as he heads into free agency this winter. Cozart has an excellent .302/.391/.558 slash line with 22 homers, 60 RBI and 74 runs scored in 398 at-bats in 111 games. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:06 pm
  • Corey Seager blasts three-run homer in win
Corey Seager blasted a three-run homer on Friday, powering the Dodgers to a 7-0 victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Fresh off of their 11-game losing streak, the Dodgers have now won three straight games. Seager's three-run shot off of Edwin Jackson increased the Dodgers' lead to 6-0 in the second inning. It was his lone hit in five at-bats on the night.
