    • Michael Kopech earns second save in two days
Michael Kopech pitched a hitless ninth inning against the Rockies for his seventh save Friday.

Advice: Kopech has saves on back-to-back days after going nearly six weeks without one. It’s good to see, but it does mean he’ll be of Saturday, perhaps creating a save opportunity for Steven Wilson. John Brebbia has also pitched back-to-back days, so he probably won’t be an option. • Bags seventh save
Kopech earned the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Rockies, pitching a scoreless inning and working around a walk.

Advice: The 28-year-old entered the ninth with a two-run lead and looked to immediately be in danger as he opened with six-pitch walk to Ryan McMahon. However, Kopech induced two consecutive groudouts, including one of the double-play variety, to escape with just his second save in June. The Chicago right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.46 over 34.1 innings as he appears to have seized control of the closer's role over John Brebbia for the time being. • Secures save Friday
Megill tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn a save against the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: Megill threw nine of 11 pitches for strikes and quickly worked through the Cubs' 6-7-8 hitters to finish the 4-2 victory. He's converted 11 straight save chances since his last blown opportunity May 20. During that stretch, he's produced a 1.32 ERA over 13.2 frames. Megill's season ERA is down to 1.71 alongside a 30:7 K:BB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm

    • Trevor Megill notches 17th save versus Cubs

Advice: Megill has allowed just one hit in his last six appearances and one run in 12 1/3 innings this month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:08 pm

    • Doubles twice, steals in win
Young went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and a stolen base in a 3-1 loss to the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Young doubled in the third inning and again in the seventh. He then stole third and scored on an errant throw by Rays catcher Alex Jackson. Since June 21, the 24-year-old has four multi-hit efforts and nine runs scored in seven contests. On the season, he is hitting .272 with one home run, 18 RBI, 40 runs scored and 19 steals in 240 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:30 pm

    • No structural damage in knee
Winker said after Friday's game versus Tampa Bay that imaging revealed no structural damage in his right knee, and he's hopeful that he'll be able to play Saturday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Winker tweaked his knee after his foot got caught in the outfield turf while running down a flyball during the first inning. He had to come out of the game early and was noticeably limping as he walked into the dugout, though it appears he managed to avoid a significant injury. Should Winker have to sit out Saturday's game, Ildemaro Vargas would be a likely candidate to start in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:07 pm

    • Jesse Winker leaves game with knee issue Friday
Jesse Winker was pulled from Friday night’s contest against the Rays

Advice: The 30-year-old outfielder injured his knee while making a terrific catch in the outfield to end the home half of the first inning. Fortunately, he avoided any structural damage and is hopeful that he’ll be able to return to the Nationals’ lineup on Saturday. For now, he should be considered day-to-day. • Jacob Young has two hits, swipe in loss to Rays
Jacob Young went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and a stolen base as the Nationals fell to the Rays on Friday evening in Tampa Bay.

Advice: Young basically created a run with his legs in the seventh inning, smacking a two-out double, stealing third base and then trotting home as catcher overthrew the third baseman trying to cut him down. That would be the only run that the Nationals would muster in the ballgame. With his two-hit effort, Young is now hitting .272/.329/.341 with one homer, 18 RBI and 19 swipes on the season.
