      Advice: Fried turned in his worst outing Friday since allowing seven runs on 10 hits against Arizona on April 6. The Atlanta lefty generated a measly four whiffs over his 88 pitches as the Padres lineup had his number all night.       Brandon Marsh walked and delivered an RBI double on Friday night, helping to lead the Phillies to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Nationals.

      Advice: Marsh drew a walk off of Jake Irvin to lead off the second inning and ultimately came around to score on a wild pitch. He then smacked a run-scoring double off of Irvin in the third inning that extended the Phillies’ advantage to 4-1.       The Giants placed Winn on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right forearm strain, retroactive to Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

      Advice: Although manager Bob Melvin described Winn's injury as mild, the 26-year-old's MRI results seemingly told a different story.       Giants placed RHP Keaton Winn on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 15, with a right forearm strain.

      Advice: While manager Bob Melvin told reporters on Wednesday that Winn’s forearm strain was “pretty mild”, he also acknowledged that a stint on the injured list looked increasingly likely.       Advice: Skenes was lights out in his second big-league start -- he struck out the first seven batters faced while holding the Cubs without a baserunner until Michael Busch's one-out walk in the fifth inning. Skenes has certainly looked as-advertised to start his career -- he averaged 99.3 MPH with his fastball Friday, generating a 44-percent whiff rate with the pitch. The 21-year-old right-hander has allowed three runs through his first 10 innings while striking out 18.       Paul Skenes pitched no-hit ball for six innings, striking out 11, in the Pirates’ 9-3 win over the Cubs on Friday.

      Advice: Skenes was overwhelming in striking out the first seven batters he faced, and he didn’t let up much after that. He allowed only one hard-hit ball, a 107-mph groundout from Miguel Amaya. In fact, six of his seven non-strikeout outs came on grounders. It's the 27-year-old's sixth absences in 46 this season, and he's slashing .252/.309/.360 with 17 stolen bases and 13 RBI.
