    • Elias Díaz remains out Sunday with hand injury
Elias Díaz (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: Díaz is dealing with left-handed soreness, and the Rockies will give the 33-year-old at least one more day off. Jacob Stallings is back in the lineup and hitting ninth while handling the backstop duties. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
    • Improves to 4-0
Neris (4-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts to earn the win Saturday against the Pirates.

Advice: Starter Shota Imanaga tossed seven scoreless innings, followed by scoreless innings from Mark Leiter and Neris in the 1-0 victory. Neris managed to leave with his fourth win, which already puts him just two behind his career high of six wins that he recorded each of the last two seasons. The veteran righty also has six saves in seven chances to go along with a strong 2.65 ERA, making him a valuable fantasy asset so far and the top reliever to target in Chicago's bullpen. • Eleven-game hitting streak
Tovar went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI on Saturday against the Giants.

Advice: Tovar took over as Colorado's leadoff hitter with a lefty on the mound and did his damage in the third inning with an RBI single before coming around to score in the same frame. He has at least one hit in each of his last 11 games, during which he's gone 17-for-49 with two home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm
    • Crumbles in fifth frame Saturday
Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound. He'll try to get back on the right track in his next appearance, which is tentatively lined up to take place in Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Justin Verlander allows four in loss to Brewers
Justin Verlander gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings while receiving a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: Verlander has essentially alternated strong starts with poor ones since coming off the injured list, and this one goes on the ineffective side. The right-hander allowed four hits and two walks, and the big blow was a three-run homer allowed to William Contreras. He’ll be back on the mound Friday against the Athletics. • Héctor Neris strikes out two, earns win vs. Pirates
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts to fall in line for the win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: Neris hasn’t had many clean outings this season. This one came at an opportune time. With the game scoreless into the ninth, he took the mound and struck out two in a perfect inning to send it to the bottom of the frame. The Cubs would walk it off, giving Neris his fourth win of the season to go with six saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:36 pm
    • Sitting out third straight
Diaz (hand) isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Left hand soreness will cause Diaz to miss his third game in a row Saturday. The Rockies haven't given any indication that the 33-year-old backstop is trending toward an IL stint, but he may have to spend time on the injured list if his condition doesn't improve within the next couple of days. Hunter Goodman will start behind the plate and bat eighth while Diaz recovers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:54 am
    • Elias Díaz (hand) remains out Saturday vs. Giants
Elias Díaz (hand) remains absent from the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: It’ll be Hunter Goodman handling the catching duties on Saturday afternoon with Díaz sidelined for a third consecutive contest due to left hand soreness. Fantasy managers should still consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:13 am
    • Deployed in eighth inning Friday
Suarez earned a hold against Atlanta on Friday, allowing two hits and striking out two batters over one inning.

Advice: Suarez has been one of the best closers in baseball this season with 12 saves (in 12 chances) and a 0.47 ERA, so his usage in the eighth inning against Atlanta was not a demotion. Rather, the right-hander was called upon to face the heart of Atlanta's formidable lineup, and though he gave up singles to Marcell Ozuna and Chadwick Tromp, Suarez managed to emerge from the outing with his 16-game scoreless streak intact. The 33-year-old should see most of his work in the ninth inning going forward, though Friday's usage is an indication that manager Mike Shildt won't hesitate to use Suarez in the highest-leverage situations prior to the ninth if the situation calls for it.
