      Ryan (4-5) was stuck with the loss Friday against the Pirates, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Ryan was excellent Friday, holding Pittsburgh to just two runs over seven innings. However, the Twins couldn't muster anything against Mitch Keller in an eventual 3-0 defeat. Despite the loss, it was a strong bounce-back effort from Ryan after he allowed five runs in five innings in a loss to Houston in his last outing. The right-hander now sports a 3.30 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP and 85:13 K:BB across 79 innings. Ryan's currently in line for a home matchup with the Rockies in his next start.       Campusano went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and one run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Campusano entered Friday just 1-for-29 with four walks and five strikeouts over his previous 12 contests. He finally made some good contact, which included an RBI single in the eighth inning as well as a double, which was his first extra-base hit since May 19. The catcher's slump left a mark on his season-long numbers -- he's now at a .234/.284/.359 slash line with four home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 11 doubles and no stolen bases over 57 games.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday’s extra-innings loss to the Dodgers that Juan Soto (forearm) wasn’t available.

      Advice: Soto left Thursday’s game with inflammation in his forearm, and there was some speculation that the outfielder could be available off the bench for Friday’s contest. Several possibilities passed where Soto could have entered, but Boone kept the outfielder on the bench.       Joe Ryan allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Pirates on Friday night.



      Advice: Ryan gave up two hits, walked two and struck out eight. The runs against Ryan came on an Oneil Cruz solo home run and a sacrifice fly by Nick Gonzales. He pitched well but didn’t get any run support from the Twins lineup. Ryan had won three of his last five previous starts. His ERA is now 3.30 on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.

      Advice: McCormick will be on the bench for a third straight game Friday. He's played in nine games since returning from the injured list May 21, going 2-for-23 with seven strikeouts over that span.       Manager Aaron Boone said Soto, who is out of the lineup Friday against the Dodgers, had imaging on his left elbow come back clean in addition to being diagnosed with forearm inflammation, and the outfielder could be available this weekend, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The 25-year-old doesn't appear to be dealing with a severe injury and should be considered day-to-day. A quick return to the lineup this weekend is plausible, though Soto is certainly not guaranteed to see the field versus Los Angeles.
