• Brandon Marsh (hamstring) could return on Saturday
Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson told reporters on Friday that there’s a chance Brandon Marsh (hamstring) could return on Saturday.

Advice: They’ll wait and see how he feels after Friday’s minor league rehab game at Double-A Reading, but it sounds like his return is imminent. Marsh has been sidelined since early June due to a right hamstring strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:46 pm

  • Stress reaction in neck
Brown has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his neck, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Brown was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier this week with what was referred to as a neck strain at the time. With this more serious diagnosis, he is likely to be sidelined longer than the minimum 15 days, although a clearer timeline isn't yet available. Jordan Wicks has re-entered the Cubs' rotation in Brown's place. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:37 am

  • Forgettable night in return
Moore went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in his return from paternity leave during an extra-inning loss against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Moore had sat out the previous two games while on leave, and he went down on strikes three times against masterful White Sox starter Garrett Crochet before also logging one final punchout when facing reliever Michael Kopech. Since hitting safely in back-to-back games May 25-26, Moore has been mired in a nightmarish slump, going 4-for-42 with a single extra-base hit (a double) and a 38.8 percent strikeout across his last 13 contests. • Blows save opportunity Thursday
Scott (5-5) took the loss and blew a save against the Mets on Thursday, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter over one-third of an inning.

Advice: Scott was 8-for-9 in save chances coming into Thursday and hadn't blown a save since mid-April. In fact, he had rattled off 19 straight outings without allowing an earned run, racking up five wins and seven saves during that stretch. However, the southpaw couldn't protect a one-run, ninth-inning lead versus New York, issuing a leadoff walk to Francisco Lindor before serving up a walk-off two-run blast to J.D. Martinez two batters later. Despite the implosion Thursday, Scott has pitched well enough this season to not currently be in danger of losing his closing role, but that success could also make him a prime candidate to be dealt by the rebuilding Marlins. • Crushed in loss
Nola (8-3) took the loss to the Red Sox on Thursday, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Nola had two disastrous innings, allowing four runs in both the second and fourth. The fourth inning was especially rough, as he surrendered a three-run homer to Tyler O'Neill and was unable to complete the frame. According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the eight earned runs allowed by Nola tied a career high, and his season ERA climbed from 2.77 to 3.48. Despite the rise in ERA, Nola had previously rattled off five consecutive quality starts and owns a 1.08 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB in 14 outings. He will look to rebound next week in a home matchup with the Padres. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:42 pm

  • Nola hammered for eight runs Thursday
Aaron Nola allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings and got the loss against the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Nola gave up 11 hits, walked two and struck out two. He had allowed more than two runs in just three of his previous 13 starts. Nola allowed four runs in the second and fourth innings. His ERA jumped from 2.77 to 3.48 with the blow up. The 31-year-old right-hander will look to turn things back around against the Padres at home next week.

  • Scott blows second save against Mets Thursday
Tanner Scott allowed two runs and blew the save against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Scott came into the ninth inning with a one-run lead on the road. He walked Francisco Lindor before striking out Brandon Nimmo. Then J.D. Martinez got him for a walk-off two-run home run. It was just his second blown save of the season. His last blown save was on April 14th against Atlanta. Scott’s ERA is now 1.93. He has eight saves and five wins with the Marlins this year. • Blasts homer in win
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball, Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests. The first baseman has a .226/.299/.354 slash line with eight home runs and 27 RBI through 65 games this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:28 pm
  • Goes six innings in loss
Keller (8-4) was charged with the loss after he allowed four runs on eight hits with four strikeouts over six innings Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Keller's four earned runs allowed tied a season high, but he still managed to extend a streak of seven straight starts of at least six innings. He gave up a homers to Paul Goldschmidt and Brendan Donovan, making it the first time this season he's allowed multiple long balls in a game. The 28-year-old has a 3.36 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 78:22 K:BB across 85.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:15 pm
