• Blasts homer Tuesday
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Gorman has four homers, two steals, eight RBI and eight runs scored over his last nine games, batting .321 (9-for-28) in that span. It's a good run of consistency at the plate for the infielder, who has struggled to put it all together at times this season. He's at a .214/.306/.428 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and two steals through 47 contests overall while holding down a starting role at second base. • Alex Bregman homers from fifth spot in lineup
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 and hit a homer that accounted for both Astros runs Tuesday in the loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman had the nice game after switching places with Jeremy Peña and being dropped to the fifth spot in the lineup. Perhaps it means he’ll resume batting cleanup Wednesday, but the Astros truly have bigger concerns at the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:00 pm

  • Notches three hits
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Rengifo did a good job of getting on base, and he was able to score after his singles in the first and eighth innings. The infielder has been locked in since returning from an illness May 17, going 15-for-42 (.357) over his last 10 contests. That has raised his slash line to .331/.378/.504 with four home runs, 12 stolen bases, 17 RBI and 22 runs scored across 144 plate appearances on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:51 pm

  • Logs third steal
Smith went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Smith got the Rangers on the board with an RBI single in the third inning. He also stole second in the eighth after he was plunked. Smith has gone 13-for-43 (.302) with two steals over his last 12 contests. During that stretch, Smith has been promoted to the No. 3 spot in the order. He's slashing a sharp .280/.379/.409 with two home runs, three steals, 21 RBI and 24 runs scored over 190 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:10 pm

  • Getting breather versus lefty
Merrill isn't in the Padres' lineup Tuesday against the Marlins.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Merrill will step out of the lineup Tuesday as the Marlins prepare to send Jesus Luzardo to the mound. Jose Azocar will fill the void in center field and bat eighth while Merrill sits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:21 pm

  • Getting breather
Melendez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Despite Kansas City facing a right-hander Tuesday, Melendez will miss the Royals starting nine. Instead, Garrett Hampson will play left field and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:21 pm

  • Snaps losing streak Monday
Miller (4-5) earned the win over Houston on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: Miller came into the contest having lost three consecutive outings, during which he posted a 5.71 ERA. The right-hander bounced back with his sixth quality start of the season and his sixth outing with at least six strikeouts. Miller has posted a 3.48 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB through 64.2 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:28 pm

  • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • Bryce Miller strong for six to take down Astros
Bryce Miller pitched six innings of two-run ball for the win as the Mariners edged the Astros 3-2 on Monday.

Advice: Seattle got three in the bottom of the first and Houston scored twice in the fifth to account for all of the scoring. Miller was actually perfect through four before giving up four hits in the fifth and one more in the sixth. He struck out six. Miller had lost his last four decisions, including the last three starts in a row. He’s now 4-5 with a 3.48 ERA through 11 turns. Rotoworld Monday, 9:31 pm
