• Battling knee tendinitis
Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Candelario is dealing with knee tendinitis that is "progressively not getting better" and "maybe a bit worse," Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Candelario -- who is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Pirates -- was removed from a game last week with the knee issue, and it has continued to nag at him. Bell noted that Candelario is still able to play but added that the infielder will be re-evaluated later Wednesday as the club decides how to best handle the situation. With Noelvi Marte looking likely to return from an 80-game suspension Thursday to provide the club another option at third base, it's possible the Reds will choose to put Candelario on the injured list if they determine his knee would improve with some extended rest. • Luke Raley scratched from Mariners lineup
Luke Raley was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup for the game against the Rays.

Advice: No word yet on why Raley won’t play versus his former team. Ryan Bliss entered the lineup in his place, with Dylan Moore moving from second base to left field. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Mauricio Dubón sits after 15 straight starts
Mauricio Dubón is absent from the Astros lineup Wednesday for the first time since June 7.

Advice: Dubón is a fantastic utilityman, but an everyday first baseman or left fielder he’s not and that’s rather how the Astros have been treating him lately. He’s hit .250/.276/.361 in 77 plate appearances this month, and it’d be for the best if he plays less once Kyle Tucker rejoins the Houston outfield. With Dubón sitting, Jon Singleton is making his first start since Friday. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago

  • Scratched for series finale
The Mariners scratched Raley from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays for an unspecified reason, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The team will likely provide an explanation for Raley's late scratch later Wednesday. Ryan Bliss will enter the lineup as a replacement for Raley, covering second base while Dylan Moore covers Raley's spot in left field. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

  • Connor Joe gets start in right versus righty
Connor Joe is in the Pirates lineup Wednesday for the first time in five games.

Advice: Joe was playing regularly against righties last month, but a slump changed that, and since the Pirates have been in a stretch in which they’ve faced righties in 17 of 19 games, he hasn’t had a big role. He currently has a .459 OPS in June after coming in at .853 in April and .737 in May. For the season, he has a .649 OPS against righties and an .825 OPS versus lefties. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

  • Ryan Noda stays red hot in Triple-A
Ryan Noda homered in a second straight game for Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Advice: Noda didn’t immediately turn things around after his demotion to Triple-A at the beginning of May, but he’s now hit .288/.436/.675 with eight homers in his last 22 games. The A’s are committed to Tyler Soderstrom at first base at the moment, so unless they want to give Brent Rooker a bunch more outfield time, there’s no room for Noda at the moment. A Rooker trade might change that next month. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

  • LaMonte Wade Jr. (hamstring) hitless in rehab game
LaMonte Wade Jr. went 0-for-3 in his second appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Advice: Wade, coming back from a hamstring strain, is expected to play for the River Cats again today before the Giants decided whether to activate him from the injured list. Rotoworld Today, 8:02 am

  • Spencer Torkelson homers twice in Triple-A game
Spencer Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI for Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Torkelson had some nice games immediately after being sent down by the Tigers, but he was in the midst of a two-week slump before breaking out of it last night. Overall, he’s at .274/.372/.452 with three homers in 18 games for Toledo. The Tigers might give him another opportunity soon, but there’s a good argument that Parker Meadows, who has hit .285/.378/.519 since his demotion, is more deserving at this point. • Receiving rest Wednesday
Candelario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Candelario will get a routine day off after he had been in the lineup for each of the previous five contests. Spencer Steer and Santiago Espinal will occupy the corner-infield spots for the Reds on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 am
